This is much better than the prequel, heroine has been redeemed but at the cost of her sister's book. I enjoyed her tenacity and stroppiness this time around because it's actually her book. The hero is besotted but isn't a push over which I love.
As usual Mary Jane Wells made the book better.

Oh my. This one is pure 5 guys breeding a woman kind of fun. Lordy lord, it's fantastic conclusion to the first book and great intro to the heroes of the rest of the series.

Wtffffff. Okay I wasn't expecting that. I guess I should've read the no HEA bit. This was cringe but basically a constant fevered dream. It did make me chuckle a few times and I appreciate the FFM with her professors but ultimately didn't land for me.

I really enjoyed this, it felt so human and so real, two people using each other and having hilarious degrading moments. It's not a traditional or expected HEA but still sweet.

I wasn't keen to go back into clownville but very excited to return to our vampire daddy and witch mummy. I had to flip back to the first book a couple of times to work out what was happening. This book was chaotic but I thoroughly enjoyed the journey and how destined these two were.
I highly recommend reading this back-to-back with the first book since many details, especially about the hero's past, were a bit hazy. However, I absolutely loved the world-building, with its rich magical elements and trying to solve many mysteries. The hero and heroine had their slight conflicts, but they were so far gone for one another and I found myself still super smitten by them.
Thanks to S.L. Prater for the review copy and this is my honest review. The duology is now available on KU, first book is Coven of Ill Repute and that was a 5 star read. It's a cosy mystery haunted mansion murder solving. So good.

This one didn't work for me, I didn't care for the characters and got bored half way but stayed for the bedding.

Full transparency I loved this story since I first read it in 2016 and it ended in a happy for now so I was beside myself when I saw Miranda Silver was publishing it as a book with a happy ever after. How much of my nostalgia lens were on for this, I couldn't say but I must've read the original no less than a dozen times and it always LEFT ME WANTING. However this book, did not. I am content and fullfilled now that these two tormented souls have each other and can ride off into the sunset pouring champagne over their bodies.
I'm trying to think of what drew me so much into the story. Yes the forbidden cousins aspect was salacious but also the class difference with how very out of place and uncomfortable the heroine was within the hero's world. Hero was captivating yet forceful and spoiled, constantly taking without restraint until she taught him to ask. I love that so much.
Their taboo nature and attraction ignited the initial spark of passion, but beneath it all, they discovered depth and a meaningful connection in their shared similarities.

Every historical romance reader's dream of the fantasy Scottish book boyfriend coming alive and ploughing you with his big carrot. It was definitely cringe, gross and cracked me up. Now I want some Banana milkshakes.

I'm so conflicted on how to rate this. My heart wants to say 2 but the point is to be cringe, terrible and plain bad. This book succeeded and then some. I was fully reading with one eye closed the whole time. It did crack me up lots and I applaud the author for her creativity for this horrible mess.
It sent me into a reading slump because I was determined not to DNF, mama didn't raise no quitter.
