I feel like this author did a pretty poor job of making his points. There were a lot of places where, rather than going into detail, he simply said he talked more about it in some other book. I have no interest in reading any more of his books.

I've read some of Cuhulain's other works and had very high expectations for this one. I went into it wanting to learn as much about wards as I could but that ended up only being one chapter (chapter 11, so close to the end it's almost not worth the wait). There's several chapters in here that I don't think ever get to the point. He talks about Vampires and how they suck energy from people. Then he goes on about how vampires have codes that say they should only feed on the energy of the willing. That's all well and good, but what do we do when we meet a vampire that doesn't follow those codes? How do we defend ourselves then?

I wish this book had focused more on the methods to ward ourselves than the list of things that either didn't work or could happen to attack us. I still really like Cuhlain and there are certainly things in here that could apply to me. But it wasn't great. If you are looking for a book about putting up physic wards, then maybe try another book first.

Not awesome. But ok. I really don't have a lot to say about it. Many you have heard before. Many I don't think are 100% accurate. For example, there are things about the Inari in this book that I know to be false. Still, helpful in pointing out supernatural beings that I hadn't heard of before. I would do your own research after finishing this book.
