I really enjoyed this installment, probably because I understand Micah as a person. This book hit on a lot of great themes and handled them really well. I do think that the length is a bit of a disadvantage in these stories. Like I appreciate that they are novellas but sometimes the shortness of them means things tie up too quickly and plot threads dangle. Just a few dozen pages more and this book would have been perfect.

This book is very hopeful while dealing with pretty heavy subject matter. It never felt heavy but instead was so comforting, like a hug and good talk with your best friend. It felt realistic and refreshing. There were times when I thought the plot dragged a bit which is the only reason this didn't get a full five stars for me. Otherwise this book is damn near perfect.

Sadly this book did not live up to the hype that I had heard from it. Very poorly paced with characters that didn't move me to feel anything. I don't understand the romance, I don't really like the world building. There were aspects of the overall plot that I thought were interesting and fun but not enough to push this over a three for me. It's too bad because I see in this story the bones of what could have been an incredible book but sadly it just didn't do it for me.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I'm really excited to have more queer Fae stories out in the world. I liked the characters a lot and I thought the plot was pretty solid as well. I had a pretty good time reading it but the writing style wasn't my favorite. There were moments when the book info-dumped a little too hard and just in general the writing felt a little flat. I'd have love to rated this five stars because it could have been a five star read but I couldn't get over things like dialogue falling flat and descriptions that either over did it or under did it. Still, for sure one of the better Fae related YA books I've read.

Meh. This would have been better if it had been a full horror novel but even that probably wouldn't have gotten it above a 2. It's just predictable as hell and not very well paced with bland, cookie cutter characters that you could pluck from more or less any thriller out there.

I received an advanced readers copy of this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was pretty sweet! Reminds me a lot of some of the better romcom films with a magical realism bent. I thought the romance was sweet if a little rushed and I thought the characters were realistically quirky considering the rest of the story. There were times when I felt that there was a lot happening and there were threads that I thought tied either too quickly or not well enough. Overall it is a fun sapphic read that I'm excited for everyone to get to read it. I'd say I like it equal amounts to liking Red White and Royal Blue.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Here is the thing. I honestly love it.
This book is so dang sweet. It's a sweet little story that is so perfect for fans of things like Fence but make it sapphic. Honestly this is the kind of book I'm going to buy and read over and over again just because it fills me with so much glee. My whole heart is with these characters. Such great representation and story telling in such a short amount of time but it works so well. I would read ten more in this series.

So this book probably would have been a five but the transitions between character POVs is jarring and the chapters are too long. The love triangle was unnecessary as well. Otherwise this book would have been a four at least. Good world building, like the primary characters, the writing is so close to being amazing but misses the mark just enough to grate.

I mean this is a solid three. I didn't love it the way that a lot of people appear to love it (it could be because there was some content that made me super uncomfortable, check the TW's) but I mostly just.... didn't love the world building or the romance overly much. It's too bad because the characters themselves are pretty great but I just didn't get behind the romance and the romance is so much of the story. Not a bad book but not my favorite.
