A Heart So Fierce and Broken is the second book in the Cursebreakers series and follows Grey, the previous guardsman to prince Rhen and is now in hiding because he is the only one who knows about the identity of the other heir. We also follow the perspective of Lia Mara, the first-born daughter of Karis Luran (the queen who invaded Emberfall in the first book). Lia Mara wants peace between their kingdoms.
There were several things that didn’t work with me in this sequel, sadly considering how much I enjoyed the first book. For me there was not enough groundwork for where the characters ended up, and other characters that we cared for and knew from the first book, we don’t even get proper reasons for why they do what they do because we are not with them anymore. The romance here was rushed and where the story ended, I still sit here and question why. I want to see where this story goes, and I do enjoy parts of it. I do go into this in depth a lot more in my review, but overall it was fun, though very frustrating as well. 3/5 stars.

Race to the Sun follows Nizhoni Begay, a girl with Navajo heritage and with the ability to see monsters. She and her brother are the legendary Hero Twins, and when their father is kidnapped and a monster with the name of Mr. Charles is behind it all…. Nizhoni, Mac (brother) and Davery (bff + alive google) goes out on a mission to reach the House of the Sun, where they will get weapons to defeat monsters!
I love these books, going out on quest with friends, with influences from other cultures and with humor that makes my heart burst. A thing I forgot to mention in my video review is the focus on family and finding our flaws and hurts, and then overcome them. I really enjoyed these themes and how the book carried them + of course the representation (which I spend most of my video review talking about). My only complaint was that the book felt a bit rushed sometimes, and I wish it was longer and not a standalone. This was great, fun and exactly what I expected. 4/5 stars. I just want to go on big adventures and be generally awesome too…

Tweet Cute follows Pepper & Jack, who has one tweet war going on, another anonymous chat room talking to each other, and interactions in real life because they are classmates as well! Lots of ways to interact… lots of ways to fall in love? ;)
I love how this book has all these different set ups for the characters to interact in completely different situations and environments. They also have other things going on in their life, so it is not completely and only focused on the romance. It is very cute, heartwarming, with characters you really care for! The only “problem” I have is that you know everything will be okay, so there is no sense of risk or surprise in the book. But it is chill, and cute and doesn’t need to be “that deep” for it to be an enjoyable book! I really like it and had a great time. 3.5-4/5 stars.
