informative fast-paced

This isn't what I thought it was based on the Libby description... it is a kids picture book that got made into an audiobook and they were promoting as "nature poetry." It was... something. Half of it was just descriptions of animals not in a poem form. Very funny to pickup, but it was less then 30 minutes, so I cannot complain. Would be good and informative for any child!

This installment in the series was much slower feeling then the first book. I didn't like several of the choices that characters made as they felt untrue to their nature... and maybe not untrue in the decisions landed upon but in how the characters arrived there. The whole book felt a little long for the plot/arks being worked with... and some of the twists were obvious. But the characters I loved are still in there and there is strong potential for it to end on a high note. Fingers crossed!

This is one of those sort of books that redefines for me what reading can be. It changes the definition of what heights literature can reach and how much I can love. I watched the movie before reading this.. but it was a couple years ago and I remember it kind of like a fuzzy dream. I don't know how much that has or could influence my appreciation for this book. Reading this as an audiobook with  Candace Thaxton specifically narrating it was perfection. I struggle to see how this could be enjoyed to the same degree in a text format... just everything about this books production was perfect. I will have to revisit it to see what I think someday. For now, I'm thinking of reading this.

An interesting and complicated feeling play. Stripped of so many trappings it was very good. The scenes were fresh and engaging. I would love to an actual production of this play.

This felt like a debut in many ways, but it was fresh and fun and by the time the book closed I had fallen in love with several of the characters. The main pairing the book was so delightful, I feel very invested in where this series can go. I loved a lot of the choices it made in where to NOT go with the narrative/storyline. I respected it quite a lot even when the writing dipped into feeling a bit amateur or overdone. I could see the writing getting a lot stronger as the series goes. Definitely invested in it!

Pleasant to listen to. A bit out of my normal taste for poetry. But not bad by any means.

This book is far from perfect in it's execution and looses the plot and characters characterization at times in the name of the themes and carrying out of the main characters arch. The writing was very accessible yet had a good sense of prose to it. The sci-fi and fantasy elements were far lighter then I had hoped when picking up the book, but they clearly buoy the main themes and drive of the book. I would be very interested to read something else by this author to see how I like it. I could see her having very good poetry... we will see.

If you are interested in a new adult "finding oneself" sort of narrative, especially with discussions around the trans experience, this is definitely a book you will get a lot out of. Very good!

My fucking god. This is why I read poetry. For the moments I can read something like this that is so raw, so beautiful, so specific in its messaging and prose but something so universal in the feelings one can ascribe to it. There is something perfect about finding a poetry book this good. I would recommend to everyone.

I eat this shit up... I had no idea I could love a romance this much. The yearning, the lightheartedness, the lack of any real sexual content but just true ROMANCE!
