this was perfect when i read it in 2020, and it's still perfect. great audiobook.

really enjoyed this! can't say i've read many books like this. the moral ambiguity was fun. thought the narrator was very good.

I liked some parts of this but overall I was really left wanting for more. Interesting ideas, I learned a lot about the dynamics of the Chinese community in Brunei, but I just really thought the writing was heavy-handed where it didn't need to be. Interesting threads that could have been explored more. I think the narrator maybe took a lot away for me. I don't want to rate this so low but I just think it could be so much better, especially as a Canada reads finalist.

liked this a lot as i stare down the beginning of my late twenties. there were moments that had me in tears that i did love. extremely relevant read for my life these days. 

i had soooo many thoughts and feelings throughout this that were kind of conflicting at the beginning but were more and more resolved as the book progressed. i would love to discuss this with someone else who has read. i feel weird rating something so personal that i had some qualms with so not going to but i think park hong is a wealth of knowledge and this book contains many awesome resources and overall i recommend. 

this was so fun. horniest book i’ve maybe ever read but maybe that’s not saying much. that little switch up in the middle surprised me. sweet look at how love and relationships change from our early to late twenties. thank you casey i love you. four stars because i found kit as a narrator kind of annoying. everything else was good

was not expecting this to be a 9/11 book why does no one mention that. three stars for most of the book then extra .75 for the last like 10% thought it was lovely

enjoyed this! was kinda like :0 woah at the turn of events. some interesting ideas and concepts. a couple of times i remembered that this was a man writing about these women and i was a little :/ but overall i thought the relationships were interesting and complex but not like groundbreaking?

honestly loved this. i love when authors use the second person voice well. devastating. for some reason i’m having a hard time rating it. might change depending on how this digs with me in the coming days/weeks.
