i just loved this. really beautifully written, tragic without being gross about it while also leaving room to think. i loved the subtle magical realism, asking us to question how far we’re willing to believe reality stretches. there’s something that is bothering me about it and it scratches like an itch at the back of my mind. i hope i figure it out b

DID NOT FINISH

didn’t finish in time for bookclub and do not feel the need to finish lol

Cute, nice themes, but very middle of the road for me. I don't think I loved the translation - did not leave much up to the imagination.

Gorgeous ending to this fun romp of a series and now I can finally read the Sun and the Star and I cannot WAIT I love Apollo and I love Meg!!!

i’m happy for haley that she got to write this but it was not the best written. i’m still glad it exists though.

god i love these books

ok i actually enjoyed this quite a bit but for a book that wanted to explore new family models and the psychology of those models, kevin really buckled down on traditional family values which i thought was a really weird decision. and everyone was so straight (almost homophobic?) and why does he have such a fixation on age gaps and power dynamic relationships for izzy? that being said, since he made the decision to have izzy date her teacher in high school, it’s consistent for the character to crave another kind of relationship like that (w age gap and power dynamic) later on - however, don’t love how they just kind of brushed it off at the end and were like “no it’s okay because they’re both kind of messed up and love each other!!” like a little cringe for me. still, great read - well written, nice pace, made me think about a lot of stuff.

i took a month break in the middle so i honestly don’t remember a lot of if (library book got returned) but from what i remember it was fun

obsessed loved this to bits
