BETTER THAN I HOPED.

After book two I went into this with low expectations, no pre-ordering, nada. And HALLELUJAH this was something I really enjoyed.
I absolutely adored Jack. He was a swoony love interest. I wish I had a physical copy to highlight many passages where he let out all the feels. I loved the way he pushed Elsie to choose herself and to see herself as someone of worth. Elsie and her super people pleasing ways hit me too. I could relate to that a lot and thank heavens she broke that unhealthy cycle. I loved watching her growth.
The academia politics and scholarly drama was all very interesting to me. It floated well in the background letting the romance shine but I still wanted to know what would happen with Elsie and her quest for a new job and the security she craves (and deserves). Truly a great rom-com. I laughed, cheered, swooned and fell in love with Jack and Elsie!
Overall audience notes:
- Contemporary Romance
- Language: strong
- Romance: 3-4 open door; high explicit
- Violence: low
- Trigger/Content Warnings: sexism, chronic illness (Type 1 Diabetes), death of a parent recounted

New to me author and I am happily hear to say I’d read another book by Caitlin Moss.
This was a really solid friends to lovers, brother’s best friend & second chance romance. The combination of tropes worked well for me and I could feel the tension from the get-go. I liked the chemistry between Leo and Genevieve a lot. The flashback chapters weren’t overwhelming and added the necessary back story to feel all the things throughout this book.
There were a few plot choices that just weren’t my favorite. And a forced sense of drama that I didn’t connect with. Otherwise though, LOVED all of the basketball content, the HORSE concept was cute and I like how that was woven throughout. I sincerely enjoyed this story and look forward to more.
Overall audience notes:
- Contemporary Romance
- Language: strong
- Romance: 3+ open door
- Violence: low
- Trigger/Content Warnings: brief mention of miscarriage, loss of a mother (theme throughout), cheating (Gen’s ex)

This was another enjoyable read for The Blameless series. And one of my favorite aspects is that it really is great for the middle grade/young YA audience. There’s some heavy themes but nothing overly gory/detailed and I really love the FMC.
Briana is committed to helping her kingdom and doing the hard things to get there. I love seeing her work and train to be the best person she can be. There’s mistakes made along the way and I love how sincere apologies are given and you can see the heart of those surrounding Bri.
I love all of the side characters and the big found family. Getting the point of view from the antagonist really amps things up too. Plenty of action, intrigue, what will happen next and some good fun moments to give the cast a breather. It’s a good series and I look forward to reading the next book.
Overall audience notes:
- Middle grade fantasy
- Language: none
- Romance: none
- Violence: moderate
- Trigger/Content Warnings: loss of loved ones, small scale battle scenes, weapons and physical violence

I love when a book feels easy to finish in a day because you’re enjoying it that much. I’ve been liking this new series and happy that book two was a great read (the first is currently my favorite!).
Sweet Ava and Joey were the definition of opposites attract and it played well into their chemistry. I wanted even more of them and wish it didn’t take until about halfway to some more proximity moments. The dating coach aspects were fun and I love that Joey kept crashing everything Ava was attending. JUST CAN’T RESIST.
I loved Ava. I loved that she stayed true to herself and also looked at how her currently work/life balance was affecting her. Working through the past and adding some fun back into her life. Joey was such a sweetheart too!
I do wish there was less Ruby. I know she’s the instigator of the bet and Joey’s sister, but I daresay it felt like she was in the book more than Ava.
Also, I have to mention that kissing scene was FIRE. AND MY FAVORITE. Everything I love about a sweet rom-com. Bring on the steamy kisses.
Realllllly excited to see who’s story is next!

This is my new favorite from Annabel Monaghan! Great second chance romance, I FELT the angst and the chapters in the past were gosh dang sweet and heart breaking.
Often with second chance I feel like I need the reason for the original break-up to make sense. And this one did!! It still hurt my heart, but with all of things surrounding why there was a breakdown, it worked well and I loved seeing Sam and Wyatt work towards a resolution. I love a first love reconnection.
I loved the setting, this really is a great book for summer. It’s fast paced (and short, the audio was 7 hours), brings the feels and a little bit of heat. There were a lot of sweet moments and good conversations, I wish the other guy would have been gone sooner though!!

I wanted to love this. But I had the hardest time finding common ground with the FMC. She spent so much time comparing herself to everyone, knocking herself down and not listening to anyone around her. By the time things started to change it was really late in the story and I was already ready for it to be over.
Liam and Charlie did have a lot of cute moments. I liked the quiet scenes they had together and some sweet kisses too. Liam was swoony and was clearly enamored with Charlie and I wish Charlie would have seen that sooner.
I did like the audiobook and secondary characters too. It’s not a bad story by any means, I just didn’t connect with some aspects. I’ll still be reading Kasey Stockton books.

I had a good time with this one!
The mystery was intriguing and I liked how it all played out. Things kept twisting just enough that I kept wondering how it would all work out in the end.
I also really liked the cast of characters too. It’s multi-POV and each angle added to the story. I especially loved having both Merritt and Marigold’s views as they were the main couple of this book. I would have LOVED even a little bit more romance, but I did love the sweet moments they had. Especially how Merritt handled some information that could have resulted poorly. I loooove a reasonable man.
There were some openings for sequels to this that I would like to read too! More romantic plot lines are there and there’s always room for more mysteries.
Overall audience notes:
- Historical Mystery + Romance
- Language: none
- Romance: kisses
- Violence: moderate
- Trigger/Content Warnings: gun violence, murder, grief, loss of a sibling (side character)

I didn’t know how I would feel about this one and was pleasantly surprised at how much I ended up enjoying it. THOUGH NOTE: I wouldn’t watch the show before reading this if you have plans to read the book at all. You can tell that it reads a bit like a movie script and (after only watching episode 1) it was an exact cross over in the book. I don’t think I would have been able to make it through the book if I had already watched the show.
ANYWAYS. It’s a really good, heart breaking romance. I adore Charlotte and George. I love the way they love each other. The passionate enemies to bonded tighter together than they realized they would be. There’s some good romance, I love the friendship with Agatha and it was an enjoyable read.
There’s small scenes here or there that I felt kind of forced in the book (maybe this isn’t an issue in the show, I still need to finish watching it). Otherwise, I loved the audiobook, and happy to have it on my shelves!
Overall audience notes:
- Historical Romance
- Language: some strong
- Romance: 2-3 open; moderate explicit
- Violence: moderate
- Trigger/Content Warnings: descriptive childbirth, mental experimentation (reads akin to torture)

Another beautiful and immersive culture packed read where I feel like I am taught so much and still have so much to learn.
The mystery surrounding some suspicious characters was also intriguing and had me wondering what was happening and why. Those aspects were great and intriguing. I enjoyed Perry as a main character too. She’s hardened and kind and I liked seeing her characters progression throughout the story.
What I struggled with was the overall plot. Even reading at 3x on audio I felt like things were moving slowwww. There were a lot of small scenes that didn’t feel gathered into the entire plot and I spent a bit of time just waiting for anything to happen.
That being said, still a solid read. And I look forward to Boulley’s next book.
Overall audience notes:
- YA Mystery
- Language: moderate
- Romance: closed door
- Violence: high
- Trigger/Content Warnings: mentions of teen sex, abduction, mentions/recounts of sexual assault, murder, underage drinking, theft
