HERE FOR THE DRAMA.
BLOG || INSTAGRAM
Oh my goodness. I binged the first book and this one back to back and I have zero regrets. I loved the high level of drama and the NEED I felt the entire time reading that I had to know what happens next. This was the angsty tension filled love triangle I didn’t know I needed and I will now be forever recommending it to others.
I loved the continuation of this story. I thought the plot points came together well and I left feeling satisfied with part of the story and excited for the continuation of the other. This does finish Mackenzie’s romance and who she ends up with. There’s plenty of swoon and quotable moments and I will ABSOLUTELY be continuing this series.
Overall audience notes:
- NA Sports Romance
- Language: moderate
- Romance: one closed door
- Violence: moderate
- Content Warnings: loss of a father from suicide, mentions of drug/alcohol addiction, attempted assault, gambling addiction, underage drinking

Hello and welcome to a review for a book I binged faster than I could blink. Oh my goodness this entire story had me in a chokehold. I’m not really one for love triangles or overly dramatic plot lines, but when I am? BRING IT. And I picked this up at the right time. I could not get enough or turn the pages fast enough to figure out where this was going to go.
I loved that it was triple-POV. I loved having both boy’s POV’s and well as Mackenzie’s. The added mystery to the story was interesting to watch play out and the way my kindle lit on fire with some very choice quotes from one of the love interests (no I’m not going to tell you, GO READ IT).
This had many cliched things like the golden boy high school quarterback and the boy from across the tracks, etc. BUT do not let that deter you. Gracie Graham wove this story beautifully and made all of these aspects WORK. I was sucked in and this is a must read for sports romance fans.
**They are high school seniors (17/18) but it is definitely written in a new adult style**
Overall audience notes:
- Sports Romance
- Language: moderate
- Romance: closed door
- Violence: moderate
- Content Warnings: underage drinking, a father with a drug & alcohol addiction, grief depiction, loss of a mother (recounted), amnesia from a car accident

I wish y’all could have seen me read this book. I truly had a giddy little grin on my face the entire time (sorry to those who watched me reading at the gym). BUT IT WAS TOO GOOD NOT TO ENJOY WITH MY WHOLE HEART. Cindy Steel is one of my favorites and she delivered another swoony romance again.
There were many key moments in here that will make you squeal. I loved the immediate banter and chemistry between Dax and Ivy. They are EVERYTHING. The tension filled push and pull will bring you to your KNEES. Every single interaction felt tangible. I melted at each kissing scene and I loved how they brought out another side in each other. You can see the growth from their separation Dax and Ivy have had a for a few years and I loved the slow dismantling of their walls and seeing all the love that was between them.
This was the perfect adult summer romance book. I can’t beg y’all enough to pick it up. It is swoony and heated (kisses only!), has this perfectly tuned nostalgic quality and gosh dang DAX Y’ALL. I am not over this man. I’m just not over this book. The soft and tender moments combined with the fun and joy of falling in love squeezed my heart. A new all time favorite.
Overall audience notes:
- Contemporary Romance
- Language: none
- Romance: kisses

GREAT CONCLUSION.

I really liked this sequel y’all. It felt like an epic journey through so many different areas. I love how complex this world is. With the layers of gods, mortals, elves, creatures, etc. It has intense world building that I think is easy to follow and makes for a system that I am continually intrigued by.
I loved that this was dual POV. Getting both Karys and Dravyn’s view points was the extra little something I have been craving. I loved seeing deeper into their thoughts and insights and how they care for each other too. I adore the side characters and what they bring to the plot too.
The deep support systems make this entire cast characters to love. I liked the political maneuvering and I felt like I was watching my back at each moment wondering who was going to make it out of the final battle. I loved that there were moments of reconnection and communication between certain parties and the emotional journey that this took me on.
S.M. Gaither continues to be one of my favorite romantasy authors!

SO MANY LIES.
BLOG || INSTAGRAM
I desperately wanted to love this book, but I could not get past all of the lying. It was rampant, it was over done and I felt like Ember deserved what was coming to her because of it, some I understood, and then it just spiraled. I do think there were a lot of important topics and discussions throughout and I felt like I learned a lot.
I had kind of the same thoughts about the romance. I liked some pieces of it, I thought Danuwoa was sweet and endearing and easily my favorite person in this book. I loved his honest demeanor and the way he cared for Ember.
The audiobook is well done and if you’re interested in trying this book I would easily recommend that format. While everything didn’t come together for me, I would like to read another book by this author. I think the potential is there for future books.
Overall audience notes:
- Contemporary Romance
- Language: moderate
- Romance: 2-3 open door
- Content Warnings: racism, racial slurs, cultural appropriation, abandonment, classism

NEW [TO ME] AUTHOR ALERT.

Alright, I’ve heard a lot about T. Kingfisher’s books. And when I had the opportunity to get an audiobook early for her newest release I took it as a sign. I enjoyed this! It’s probably one of the most horror-esque books I’ve ever read but didn’t go past whatever arbitrary line I have in my head that would have creeped me out. This had a good level of creep for me.
I liked the story too. It was intriguing and I kept coming back to it wondering what would happen next. I thought the audio production was well done and can easily recommend that format if you’re interested in reading this one.
This kind of gave me Mother Gothel vibes but make it a whole lot darker. I liked the atmosphere and seeing what kind of drama was going to unfold next. I thought the characters were well written and kept things interesting. The pacing slowed down a bit for me and I was waiting for things to get wrapped up. Otherwise, a great read, I think I would try another book by Kingfisher!
Overall audience notes:
- Fantasy Horror
- Language: low
- Violence: high
- Content Warnings: emotional abuse, controlling someone through magic, murder, loss of life

If you’ve been enjoying this series and are curious if it’s worth picking up the novella, I say it is! I loved being back in this world and getting to deep dive into two characters I have really liked.
I liked the pacing and story line. It really feels well woven into the larger plot while maintaining this as a personal story to Cypherion and Vale. I love this world and seeing another view point of it only added to the experience. There’s some good tender moments, a bit of spice and I am definitely curious how this will continue into book four.
Overall audience notes:
- Fantasy Romance Novella
- Language: moderate
- Romance: 3 open door
- Violence: high
- Content Warnings: physical altercations, depictions of emotional/mental abuse and neglect, torture, physical ailments related to seizures
