A GREAT SECOND CHANCE.
BLOG || INSTAGRAM
I really enjoyed this take on a second chance romance. I loved all of the letter writing. It enhanced the story and it was sweet seeing how Oliver and Charlee fell in love with a classic form of communication.
All of the autumn and hiking vibes were perfect for the season too. I was smitten with Oliver. I loved his personality and his tender nature and honestly, everything about him. Charlee was an easy FMC to love and I was easily in her corner. I loved how they came together. The chemistry could be felt for miles.
There were a few tiny scenes that I didn’t love, and the Trevor thing wasn’t my favorite either. Overall though, a lovely romance (I’m also obsessed with the cover), and an enjoyable read.
Overall audience notes:
- Contemporary Romance
- Language: moderate
- Romance: 3+ open door
- Violence: low
- Content Warnings: death of loved ones (off page – breast cancer and smoke inhalation)

VIBE CHECK.

You know when you’re just here for the vibes? That’s this book. I loved it. I loved the mythology aspects and the competition was nice and brutal. For an 18 hour audiobook I had no time flying through this one. It is engaging and full of good twists and you know what, I’m here for the romance too.
I liked the pacing and all of the side characters. I think some aspects of the action scenes could have had a bigger punch, but I thought all of the different games were interesting and led to good character development for Lyra. She still has a ways to go, but y’all know I love a good arc over the course of an entire series. And I’m wildly obsessed with Hades.
I’ll absolutely pick up the next one. I need to know what happens next.
Overall audience notes:
- Fantasy Romance
- Language: high
- Romance: 2 open door; innuendo
- Violence: high
- Content Warnings: loss of life, murder, blood and gore

GOOD ENDING.
BLOG || INSTAGRAM
That ending really brought this whole book together for me. Gosh I’m still thinking about it. This is the way I enjoy thrillers coming to a close, with that last gasp scene that makes you look at the story/a character in a different light.
There was one plot point I didn’t love in this book that still doesn’t feel like it was a necessary aspect. Luckily it was a small piece or I think I would have had a harder time reading. It’s a great and fast paced audiobook. One that I got through in a day.
I liked the complexity of the story and wow it hits some hard themes too. It’s messy and filled with characters that you can’t decide whether you like them or not. I’ve really enjoyed reading through multiple Kara Thomas books and plan to continue with new releases. I like the way she crafts thrillers a lot.
Overall audience notes:
- YA Thriller
- Language: low
- Romance: innuendo, mentions of nights together
- Violence: moderate
- Content Warnings: murder, suicide (off page, recounted), statutory rape, pedophilia, abortion, death of loved ones, gun violence, car accident, domestic violence

I WILL READ MORE.

This (I believe) is a debut romance and y’all, I will absolutely pick up the next book in this series. I really enjoyed this one and found myself continually wanting to pick it back up.
Now, there were some writing quirks in the first half, that are hard to describe, but weren’t clicking for me. And then I did notice in the second half that seemed to have settled a bit. I could feel the progression of the writing and story as the book went on which makes me excited for future stories.
I liked Joss and Wes a lot. They were easy characters to fall for and their heated but sweet story was swoony and deep. There were many good themes and quotes throughout that I resonated with and I liked how the situations were handled.
There isn’t a third act break up (yay!) but I did feel like the last quarter dragged a little bit into this awkward extended epilogue rather than closing the story out. Kind of like it was setting up for book two more than tying up the ends to book one first. My enjoyment levels were still there though for the overall book.
Overall audience notes:
- Contemporary Romance
- Language: low – moderate
- Romance: heated fade to black
- Violence: low
- Content Warnings: panic/anxiety attacks, mentions of PTSD due to a plane crash (recounted), emotionally manipulative mother, absent father, brief scene of attempted assault

I had no idea how much I was going to enjoy this book when I started it. Vampires and I don’t get a long often, and the horror genre is only something I’ve recently been exploring. But hey! This was a hit. I really liked this book and can easily recommend it to others.
As a romance lover, I loved how much the romance was a part of the main plot. The second chance, childhood friends to more is fantastic and filled with heated tension and the best kind of passionate arguments. I loved that it was dual POV and getting to see both Nestor and Nena’s decisions and thoughts.
The plot is pretty good. I think it wavered here and there but overall stayed strong. I loved how the historical fiction aspects were woven in and the atmosphere was perfectly gothic. I don’t know how to define a true horror book but I was creeped out by the vampires if that counts for something? One of the more gruesome descriptions I’ve come across in reads. This officially has future books by this author on my radar.
Overall audience notes:
- Horror + Romance
- Language: moderate
- Romance: fade to black
- Violence: moderate – high
- Content Warnings: vampire attacks, blood and some gore

I AM OBSESSED.

Gooooood heavens I am upset that I am caught up on this series because I NEED THE LAST BOOK. I loved this installment!! It was another amazing addition. I am loving Ellie and Ramsey’s journey. I love all of the mystery. I love the family members and friendships. There is not one bad thing I have to say about this book. I JUST WANT TO BEG EVERYONE TO GO READ IT.
I won’t say much else since this is the fourth book in a series. The progressive character arcs and overall plot line has been fantastic though. Each book has my full attention and I love how quick of a read they are. It’s a series I didn’t know I needed and now can’t stop thinking about.
Overall audience notes:
- Historical Mystery + Romance
- Language: low
- Romance: kisses
- Violence: moderate
- Content Warnings: WW2 themes, gun and weapons violence

SUCH A SWEET STORY.
BLOG || INSTAGRAM
Friends to lovers and I have an up and down history and I can easily mark this in the win column. It was such a sweet story. I adored Drew and Bri and watching them realize how their deep feelings had turned into everlasting love.
There were many tender scenes and I loved how the fake dating played out. The dates were fun and I enjoyed the lighter vibes of this book. It was exactly what I was needing when I picked it up.
I didn’t love the Clarissa plot line, but that was the only thing that stood out to me. I love that this is a modern royal romance story and it had one of my favorite tropes he falls first and he’s fallen HARD. All of the small elements came together for such a lovely romance read. I’m sad to see this series go but excited for what Amanda writes next!

RATHER OBSESSED.

I loved this book y’all. It lines up there with book one in this series as a favorite. Audra Wells deserves way more hype and love for her historical fiction books. I have enjoyed this entire series and I can’t wait to hear about future books.
I looooooved that Robert was a stoic man who had to learn to let people in. I loved that he fell first and worked to actually show who he was and how he and Louisa could have a good and loving life together. Louisa did frustrate me a smidgen with how stubborn she was being over something that didn’t make total sense, buuut this book caught me at a good time for reading and I let it be. I loved all of the pugilism aspects and the protectiveness, the kissing scenes, the forced proximity, GIVE IT ALL TO ME.
It’s a short and fast paced book that really brings the heated swoon. I loved many of the quotes and general themes. I adored these characters and this one just stole my heart.
