I love this quirky town. It’s like my favorite small town contemporaries but make it spooky and I am here for it. There’s all sorts of paranormal creatures running around and I love that there’s different focuses on learning more about them with each book.
Fated mates reallllly worked for me between Kit and Nimue. It was written incredibly well that had me feeling all the chemistry they had for each other. It was hot and sweet and all the things in between.
The outside plot is interesting and I like how it subtly continues. Not overshadowing the romance but upping some intensity and bringing the action. This is a great writing duo and I look forward to the future books in this series!

- Paranormal Romance
- Language: some strong
- Romance: two open door; med-high explicit
- Violence: med
- Trigger/Content Warnings: Physical and magical altercations, kidnapping

Oh my goodness, this writing was magical!! I absolutely LOVED the Paris setting during Christmastime.
I knew this was the author’s first contemporary book and I think she nailed it. I would happily read more stories set in a modern setting from her easy. Keyes made Paris come alive and these characters had my whole heart.
Remy was absolutely adorable. I was swooned away by his kindness. He had the purest heart and his interactions with Madi were pure. They had chemistry from the beginning and I loved reading about them exploring Paris and falling in love. I think there was a great balance of plot and Christmas stuff that is exactly what I’m looking for in a holiday read.
I do wish the boyfriend to ex-boyfriend plot line wasn’t around as long as it was. And I did think it showed up at a few inopportune times.
Otherwise, great book. Can’t wait for more.

ILLEGAL CLIFFHANGER ALERT.

I am still enjoying this series 8 books later and I love that for me.
KEEFE. He’s still my absolute favorite and I love him so much and I need him to have all the happiness. All the happiness. EVERYTHING HE WANTS OKAY.
The plot was steady here and I am so flippin’ grateful we finally got some answers to Sophie’s history that were much needed. I was super surprised by the who’s and what’s and I hope we get the rest of the information I neeeeeed.
I did think that this was a bit too long. A few scenes felt repetitive and I was stuck on a merry go round waiting for the next something to occur. I do love these characters and the found family aspects they give each other. How adults and teenagers are working together to benefit everyone. I’m continually curious about the antagonists dynamics and I can’t wait for those reveals to be forthcoming.
The cliffhanger left me on edge. Gotta get the next book in my hands ASAP.

There’s a reason this book has a lower rating, it is dry. I HIGHLY enjoyed books one and two in this series and recommend going to go read those and skip over this one.
I never felt any chemistry between Cara and Matteo. They had an initial enemies vibe that kind of turned into a forced proximity angle, so the tropes are there, but between them? NOTHIN’. I can barely remember much about either of them at this point too.
The plot was nothing surprising either. There’s some holiday flair and I liked how things worked out in the end for Eldovia. Sleigh rides and skiing were good wintery moments that I’ll admit, had some charm.
This wasn’t it. I don’t really have much to say because nothing happened you wouldn’t suspect from the get-go. Everything felt forced.
Overall audience notes:
- Contemporary Holiday Romance
- Language: some strong
- Romance: 2-3 open door; med-high explicit
- Trigger/Content Warnings: mentions of a parent with a gambling addiction

This was a well written story with beautiful imagery and a deep dive into history.
And I will say it’s definitely more historical fiction than anything else. There is a romantic sub plot, but it’s a super sub plot. I enjoyed the murder mystery aspects and finding the truth. Learning about different aspects of the nations at the time and finding God when down on your knees.
The “whodunnit” will keep you guessing and the save the damsel in distress scenes are some of my favorite. I liked the forbidden aspects of the romance and the discussions they worked through involving grief and forgiveness. The lane is never straight but the hills and valleys remind you of what you’re ultimately striving for.
I do wish there was more romance. It had it on the cover so my expectations were set in that direction and I was a bit mystified they didn’t interact as much as I hoped for. I did like the friendships Rhiannon had with her cousin and I just liked Rhiannon in general. She was a great FMC. Full of strength and a desire for more.

ADORBS.

I needed something light, fun and endearing enough to keep my interest. This hit those marks for me.
The writing style was entertaining and filled with amusing anecdotes that caused multiple smiles. A well set-up friends to lovers romance with a country music video at its center. Hunter and Chloe had clear chemistry from the get-go and the handful of flashback chapters added more depth to their overall story.
I loved how swoony Hunter was and how he continually endeared himself to Chloe. Actions really do speak louder than words and he showed off those actions with flair.
The scoliosis rep was amazing and I appreciated seeing that and learning more about a condition I only understood the bare minimum of. It was beautiful and I loved the support Hunter continually gave Chloe.
This was super cozy and perfect for fall. I look forward to reading more of Gardiner’s books!

MISSING.

This book was missing quite a bit for me. I even realized in the first half that things weren’t going well and hoped for a better second, but alas. I’m left with more questions than answers.
Plot wise I felt like there were many holes. There were quite a few things that I kept wondering, why did that happen? What did it serve? And moments where sub plots just didn’t track. Even the ending was suuper open and didn’t satisfy anything I needed.
One good sub plot I did like was about mothers. The things mother’s are willing to do and stretch for to save their children, help them, or just be in the same space as them. A lot of these sentiments were great and maybe this as an adult book with more of that would have hit better.
The romance was super underdeveloped. I wasn’t even marginally invested and confessions of love were being thrown about. The villain’s were too obvious and one dimensional. And I’m not even sure the FMC did anything?! A bunch of stuff was happening to her, but she barely made any moves until the last few chapters.
The base of the writing was fine and the audiobook was great. This was not for me though.

SO SWEET.

I have been waiting for this series for months and the first book started things off fantastically. I adored it. Suuuper sweet and cuddly and makes me want to fly to London ASAP.
For a very (I’m talking a week) fast paced romance, I was pretty charmed by the connection between Claire and Liam. They met on a rocky playing field and found common ground wandering London together. Occasionally things read a bit too much like a travel blog, but when this duo would banter back and forth I was HERE FOR IT.
The kissing scenes were absolutely swoooooony. Good heavens. I love well placed heat in sweet romances. This one knocked it out of the park. I felt the tension and desire easily.
Pleasantly satisfied with no ridiculous third actness. It all fit into the story well and made sense for the characters at the time. I thought the ending was delightful and gave the resolutions needed for both characters to be together and get what they needed from outside their relationship too.
All sorts of holiday cheer abound (which is something I look for when picking one of these romances up). You won’t regret diving into this series!

- Trigger/Content Warnings: emotionally negligent parents, loss of a parent (off-page prior to book)

I love Christmas books, and I love that I can easily add this to my recommendations list for the season.
We’ve got a really great set-up of lovers to enemies to lovers and I enjoyed the banter and rehashing of all the things that occurred then and what was happening in the present. And talk about Christmas CHEER. I LOVED the baking, decorating, picking out trees, walking the town, craft shows, alllllll the things that truly brought the entire spirit into this book. I feel so in the mood for everything holiday based, ’tis the season!
There’s plenty of family drama (but the good kind) and a lot of laugh out loud worthy awkwardness as Marin and Max clash a few times before realizing they love they once shared is still clearly there. I do think the change of heart came a bit late for me because Marin really held on to being stubborn about a tough situation. The resolutions afterwards led to some beautiful conversations that warmed my soul and made me love these characters.
Perfect for the season. Great swoony moments, hilarious banter and just a truly good time of a read.
