This was a good choice to read after Escape from Camp 14 and learning about the experiences of life in the camps of North Korea, and the eventual escape. This book gives you the perspective of life outside the camps and how much things differ when escaping as a woman and a girl. This was pretty eye opening, and just how one family can start off as poor, find some money and become in a better state of well-being (better, not great), then have it reverse again very quickly due to how North Korea rules over its people. One mistake (big or small) is all it takes to have your fortune and luck turned on its head.
Her experience escaping is very traumatic and hard for her and her mother. I won't go in to details, but they can at times be hard to read about due the harshness of incidents. Once in South Korea instead of accepting a life of struggle to adapt, Yeonmi works hard to achieve what others thinks she can't. I always hate rating these books, but I will say this is a must read. I couldn't put this book down and finished it the same day.

I found this to a super fun read. I thought the main character, Ruby was just fun to root for, and was well written. The story's premise isn't all original, but that shouldn't stop you from reading and enjoying this fun ride.
So I got this book through a site that posts when books go free. Something about the cover and books description made me want to read it immediately. I'm super glad I did, because this was amazing. So much fun, and Aya was awesome as a protagonist. The power of being able to control colors and how she does it was fascinating. I loved the way Millard wove Van Gogh in to it too. Immediately bought the sequel.
I'm not writing much. Words can't convey my feelings about this book enough. I'll just say it is emotional and a must read... nope a required read.

It was a fantastic read, and an awesome sci-fi story with great characters and world building. I loved how well the pacing was too. The ending obviously means a sequel, and I hope it happens soon. I need to continue following Livi's journey.

This book is hard to decide on a star rating for. It's not a story with a lot of depth to it, but it was mindless fun to read through. Koutarou rents a really cheap apartment, and then a bunch of girls show up fighting over it. A ghost, alien, underground dweller, and a magical girl. Its stupid as hell, but works. One of those books where I could give half stars here on Goodreads. I'll settle with a 3, since I feel like 4 is too high. It will be a series I plan on checking out the next volume of.
Wow, that was short, sweet, and heartwarming. The art is beautiful and works so well with the story. I even read through it twice just because I enjoyed it so much.
