This is one of those books where I finish and realize I have to wait way too long to jump in to the next volume... So good!
What a fantastic way to end the series... not that I want it to be over, but since it is I am satisfied. The book kept me on edge, made me tear up plenty (and when you are reading with others around, it is hard to hide that damnit), and of course I laughed and smiled. So many times through this book I was thinking back to past books and remembering so many different moments.
The biggest thing for me is that Sarah J Maas managed to make the finale worth reading. Too many books build and build, just for a quick wrap-up, yet she spans it out so well. You feel satiated, and not left hungering for more or wondering what the point was.
Maybe we can get a novella of what things look like in 10 years or so. :D

This was definitely a better book overall than the first one. I struggled to connect with Xifeng in the first book, and I was never a huge fan of Evil Queen retelling stories. Reading the second book from Jade's perspective was definitely a more enjoyable experience. It also featured better writing and helped expand the world within. It had some good humor in the darkness of it all. This endearing sequel is a 4.25
After the Grisha Trilogy started off great, then ended with a meh, I was nervous coming in to Six of Crows. Wow I'm glad my fears weren't realized. This book is great, and only took me so long to read due to unfortunate reasons.
I pretty much liked all the major players, with Inej at the top of that list and Nina right behind.
I look forward to jumping in to the sequel when I get the chance.

Okay this book was awesome! For middle grade reading, Ellen Oh captured the creepy aspect as well as many books for older audiences. Harper was a great protagonist, and the mystery behind her past incidents and stay at Briarly were nicely paced out in reveals. In fact one incident with a spirit named Dahlia had the hairs on my arm standing on end. I was completely creeped out. I also liked the focus on troubles with family, understanding, and sometimes racism.
I hope that Spirit Hunters becomes a multi-volume series going forward. I want more from these characters going forward. This is a new favorite, I'll definitely revisit.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
Konohana Kitan is a slice-of-life manga about fox spirits who work at a hotel where everyone is treated like a god. While not everyone is a god, many are spirits or other wayward people/souls looking for direction. Stories are told about heartache, family, and friendship (and sometimes more) among the fox spirits.
The artwork is super cute, and I loved the different personalities of the girls. Yuzu is the main character of the crew, and is just super adorable. There is some nudity, but nothing that feels tasteless or strictly fan service.
The stories themselves are very touching, and many of the endings had me fighting back the water works. The great thing about the stories is they aren't always blatant as to what the back story or outcome is. One in particular was an interesting spin on what was happening in the real world, and it is super cute and will pull on those emotional strings.
Konohana Kitan is a manga I'm definitely going to be reading going forward as I love slice of life series. Throw in the the cute humor on top of the tear jerker stories, and it is an easy hook. Definitely recommended!
