Glad I finally read this book, as this was not one required back in High School for me.
A really entertaining read, and honestly I just wanted to read Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy interacting with each other the entire book. I also really enjoyed the humor in this book, as I definitely laughed out loud a few times.

A good novella that helps to tide over fans until the next book in the series. There's some great insight to what many of the cast are going through post ACOWAR, and how they have been dealing with various internal and extrenal struggles. Outside of the those moments and the Solstice celebrations, those looking for a good setup for the next book might be a bit disappointed, as there is very little presented in that regard.
I think this book just killed my reading slump. I flew through this in 2 hours without putting it down. Maurene Goo rights her protagonists so well. Clara had great wit, and I loved watching her grow. It is nice to see a character actually have things learned over time, or friendships blossom without being an instant mesh. My loved how she interacted with Rose, her father, and Hamlet. The book is full of humor, and some truly heartfelt moments. While I enjoyed her first two books, The Way You Make Me Feel is definitely my favorite of hers.
I will preface my short paragraph on my thoughts with this. Harden did his job in bringing out Shin's struggles. I don't like putting ratings on books like this, as I don't feel comfortable rating information about someone's life. The 5 stars are merely given in hopes maybe someone will see this and pick it up and read it themselves.
This is an eye opening book. I had always known of labor camps in North Korea, but never really knew about the extent of some of them. We have all heard stories of defectors and political prisoners going to labor camps or being executed. I can say I never knew of the harsher camps that don't just punish the accused, but multiple generations going forward. This book is a descriptively graphic one as you learn about Shin's life growing up and the things he suffered personally and witness. As Harden and Shin go about telling his tale, it is shocking and hard at times to read these events. With North Korea becoming more prominent in the news these past few years, this book is a must read for anyone taking an interest in what is unfolding.
