Finally I get to read a book featuring my favorite Greek Goddess, Artmeis, in a modern setting. She never was in the Percy Jackson series much at all, and let's not talk about her from the Goddess Wars series. So I was immediately pulled in to this book and watching her as Selene. The chemistry between her and the professor, Theo, is excellent. He plays a great charming smart-ass, and any time he was breaking down Greek mythology stuff was well done and not overwrought or boring. The mystery behind the deaths of women is brutal and interesting, and I swear I knew who the person behind them was, and then I didn't. I'm glad a friend lent this and urged me to read it, because it was a lot of fun. 4.5 out of 5
I've been meaning to get around to this book since I bought it on Kindle years ago. Shorter than I expected, but it got the story told without a lot of fluff. A bit darker and rougher than you expect from the movies. The age of the novel does show a bit, but not nearly as I had worried. The age of the book does lead to some thoughts and things said that would make us cringe in present day. As for Bond, he is fresh and not completely sure of himself just yet as a Double 0 agent. This basically sets the stage for his attitude going forward. I look forward to reading more down the line. 3.5 out of 5
