This was refreshing, it felt like a fun spin on the princess and the pauper but including witches and magic! It was honestly really good and I got through it pretty fast bc the plot was quite simple, I was all in for the world building though, I hope a sequel is soon!

I would have given this 5 but honestly the romance felt a little overpowering, don't get me wrong I enjoy the ships but man am I sick of romance being main plot points.

This was dramatic, and messy, and angsty and just all found great fun! It had the right amount of romance vs mystery plot and I had a lot of fun with it. The lore was unique and nothing like I’ve ever read before…and you can’t go wrong with gay vampires!

It’s not the best lgbt vampire book I’ve read but I really enjoyed it and had a great time! I enjoyed the mc’s and their dynamic and honestly the murder mystery plot was a great addition, something fun to try work out alongside screaming about the angsty romance! Just kiss already!

Oh wow...wowwww. This was absolutely gorgeous all the way through. I genuinely didn't want to put it down from the moment i started it! It's so beautiful and so so well paced, i'm obsessed. So much happens there's genuinely enough content for 2 books here! All of the lore was really cool and just everything was so well thought out and written beautifully! I do wish it was paced a bit better as it kinda was slow to get going and patchy in places but I can’t not give it 5* just for how beautiful the prose is!

I honestly cannot wait till the 2nd book comes out, I really wanna know what happens next. I loved all the twists and turns and honestly the love triangle was ahhhh! This was just so cool and if its on your tbr rn READ IT!!

Honestly I'm not sure what I was expecting from this but it was sold to me as 1920's gangster romeo and juliet and it did notttt disappoint!! it hit every mark!

I actually wasn't expecting the fantasy elements in this at all, I for some reason went into it thinking it would be purely realism but I was even more excited by this once I was aware of the mild fantasy plot!! A monster stalking the city??? A disease??? Along with all the romeo and juliet shenanigans w/ the two gangs?? It was soooo good!!

I really loved all of the side characters and the mc's, I had a great time! The writing was great, the setting was super cool and I'm a sucker for historical based stories so this was so good. I really loved this take on R&J so much honestly, it was so unique and cool omg.

The ending...I need the book 2 paperback to release already so I can read it ahhhh!

These are crazy quick to read, I've been listening to them on Audible whilst I play videogames and they really ARE entertaining! There's some flaws, some weird pacing but honestly if you want a quick fun series to read this is a good one to chose!

Okay so honestly book 1 is essentially just a set up for the series! I liked this one a lot more than the first because you find out WHO the recurring character is! Honestly I really like this take a lot, you don’t usually get to follow the murderer essentially on the run, it was refreshing!!
