This one was ok. I wasn't amazed but I didn't dislike it. I kind of just wanted more info on what he was doing with the electricity exactly. Like HOW he did what he did for those people. Being non religious I don't have any views of life after death so I found that part kinda interesting... but bugs? No thanks.
If I look at this through a religious lens, maybe the whole thing is a metefor to not turn away from God in the hardest of times. If the Rev's family wasn't killed he would have continued to tinker and lead a happy religious life. Because they were killed he denounced God and started changing things that were in His plan. Then he kept on and kept on to the point of seeing a horrifying ending. Was this the "Devil's" work?
I find it facinating that depending on your views in this world, it affects how this story hits you.

I could not put this down. Such a fascinating idea and I'm not at all surprised by the ending.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I think this is in at least the top 5 for me of Stephen King. It was well written and spooky and makes you wanna side eye all the old cars.
I adored this sequel! It just pulled me in and I finished it in one day!
Such a wonderful story of magic and friendship. Even as an adult this book never fails to captivate me with it's magic.
What an amazing and engaging story! I love having a peek into the death industry and learning more about it. I agree with the author that we as a whole have moved further and further away from death and fear it all the more because. I will be recommending this to everyone I know!
The mystery was interesting but I found it kind of slow and boring for me. I definitely see why Agatha Christie's works are still celebrated
