With other books written by the author, they are exploring a new sexual genera but it falls flat and is just sex. The sex is good, but it's not sub/dom. If the list exchange and the mild discussion of it (and the hilarious power exchange discussion/thought [it's not]) this would still be a good book. Just not a kinky (and I use that term ever so lightly) book.
I feel this does more of a disservice to the actual sub/dom/kink genre than anything.

The character development for the MMC was decent. You got to know him with his makeshift warriors. However, the FMCs development and the relationship between the MMC and FMC were severely lacking. It was disappointing.

While there wasn't a lot of spice in this book, what we got was explosive! I wasn't expecting it and hell of it didn't knock me off my feet. Great job.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters were wonderfully written and developed and I truly cared for them. What they believed in and what they stood for, they were.
My only confusion with this book was the chapter transition segments. They were in duet when the rest of the book wasn't. Why wasn't the rest of the book in duet? Hearing the narrators interact in those small "on air" segments were great. I think it would have brought a whole new level to the book.

This book is character and relationship development and it does a pretty good job at it. The first third did feel like a bulldozer of information but it evened out until the last few chapters.
I would have like to have had longer character interaction but it didn't take away from setting up anything.
Erin Mallon narrates Thea and while she is great at doing the other characters voices, she makes Thea and everything else sound like a bad newscastor reading a prompter for the first time. It's kind of like that one woman who saves the bees (the bee lady) who has a very even voice but pitches up at the end of every sentence. It's like that and becomes annoying.
I will continue to the second book (in audio form) because I am interested in where the relationships go

The story wasn't too bad. The male narrator made women sound really whiny voices and it kind of took away from everything.
Also Payton seemed to have more sass and be funny in Nero chapters rather than her own. It would have been nice to see that side of her a bit more.

I'm disappointed it ended where it did. I feel that both characters have a lot more to communicate to each other and I wanted that.
I also didn't realize this book was from the Clecanian series. I was extremely underwhelmed with the first two in this series.

I don't think the narrator really captures the banter between the characters very well. There were times where she did and it really came across and others where I wasn't sure if the characters were cross with each other or ribbing each other. I may have liked this a bit more if I read it rather than listened to it.

Excellent character development, relationships, and struggles. It was nice to read a book where a character said/thought something and followed through with it. Both characters were adults, treated each other like adults and acted like adults. It was like a breath of fresh air. Scenes went on for quite some time with detailed description and it built the world up quite nicely. Getting to know minor characters was a treat and it had me wanting to read/listen to more Kristen Ashley.

jfc what a freight train this book was. It never found a rhythm. The first book didn't have much of a rhythm to it but I thought it would settle into one in the second book. I was wrong. What I found interesting in the characters in the first book weren't there in the second and it just turned into a slog. The twist of who her father was, the breakup, the lack of communication, it felt like a book from 2013.
I really enjoy two of the three narrators but they never settled I to their characters. It felt like their direction was to do some like acting but get through it as fast as possible.
I guess what I'm trying to say is this book, and this series, felt like an exposition dump and I didn't enjoy it very much.
