I fell in love with the characters almost instantly. They had depth, emotion, and were wonderful people to get to know.

As someone who has lived in both Seattle and Reno, the references were correct. I appreciated that.

The only thing that bothered me was the
conversation of life/career in the third act. While the conversation they were having seemed accurate/correct for the characters, it didn't seem right that Chandler would run away to think. She had tackled some pretty big things through the book and the decision to go back to Seattle seemed off
.

I quite enjoyed this book. The kindness, friendship, and love development between characters was unfolded nicely. I wanted the spicy scenes to be better but the tension/build up was good.

I don't know why either character liked each other. Everything revolved around Jr wanting to get out, Jr not being transparent about anything, and Lo misinterpreting things (some justified). There wasn't much growth between the characters and the conflict was the driving factor of the story, not the relationship.

This also kind of felt like a Pro Sexwork advertisement. I'm all for sex work being valid and safe but it was a point that was driven home many many many many many many many times. Maybe it was because I didn't need convincing? I dunno. It was just so repetitive to me.

While this is by far the spiciest book I've read this year, the character development was on point. I was interested in all of the characters, intrigued by their back stories, and was fascinated by the magic of it all. I am going to continue with this series.

lol I had no idea that I listened to two mate game books back to back. They were in different series but still. It's confusing.

I want to know where this story goes so I will continue. Listening, one of the narrators is a bit over the top but I'll let it slide. I love the cast reading. Everyone has emotion and character in their voice and It makes listening fun.

It just never stops. Silly decisions made by characters when THEY KNOW they don't have all of the information and it puts them in danger.
The priest is the most annoying character because in one breath he will be like, "I am a man of god and I need to live by my vows." In the next breath he has sex and says he'd do anything for her. Then he's mad at her. It's frustrating because there isn't a reason why other than god. Zero struggle.
