Definitely one that touched my heart. This book is so important. The only issue I had with the book is that the synopsis essentially tells you everything that happens in the book. Nothing was a surprise. I realize that surprise wasn’t really the point of the book, however, it would have been nice to question what may or may not was going to happen in the book. Other than that, this book was really touching. I would love to see more books like this one out there.

The poetry in this book was good, I just personally felt like it was lacking the depth that I usually experience when reading poetry.

I recently went on a two week trip to Greece. It was one of the most life changing experiences that I have ever had. After that trip, I wanted to read a book in which the main character travels and falls in love with a place as much as I did with a Greece.
This book was really great and entertaining. I loved watching Allyson find herself and get to know herself better. The main reason why this book is not higher rated for me is because there were moments where I just wanted to get on with it. I found myself feeling that way especially when she was at school. Other than that I really enjoyed this book. That ending though, ugh ugh ugh. I have the wait 4 weeks until the sequel is available. I just want to know what happens!

I thought that I would like this one more than I liked the first book, but I guess that is not the case. I really enjoy Stargirl as a character, I just think that the way in which her story is told isn't my favorite. I'm having a hard time articulating exactly what it is that wasn't my favorite though. I will have to spend some time reflecting on it.

This book gave me a lot of really rich ideas and strategies for creating community in my future classroom. Although I do not believe that everything in this book is applicable to every situation, I do think that I will use this book as a resource in my future.

I have closely followed Franchesca Ramsey for quite a while. She was one of the first black women that I followed on youtube. She was my main inspiration for getting locs. I have loved seeing her grow and flourish over the years. I am so beyond proud of her for writing this book. It was a really humbling experience to read an activist that I've followed closely acknowledge their faults. I love Franchesca and I really enjoyed her book. I cannot wait to see what marvelous things she does next!
