I’m just going to get to the point with this one. I did not enjoy this book as a whole. Yes, there were parts of it that I did enjoy, but there were definitely more cons then there were pros.
The following are reasons why I did not enjoy this book:
1. The third person writing style did not fit well with the story in my opinion. It made it hard for me to get to know Leila, the main character.
2. Most of the sub-characters annoyed me by the end of their sections.
3. This book was trying so hard to be one thing when, in my opinion, it would have been so much more successful as another thing completely.
I was super excited to read this one. It sounded like it was going to be one of my favorite books ever. But it just fell flat for me :(

I had a love hate relationship with this book. Not the normal kind either - if there is even a normal love hate relationship. Some days I wanted to throw the book at a wall (and occasionally I did) and other days I was laughing an hour later because of something that happened. I think I had problems with this book because I had to read it over a certain time for school, but now that I think of it I probably wouldn't have read it if I weren't reading it for school. So in all I think my rating describes how I feel about the book very honestly: it was okay.

Reread- 2/18/13

Urg, I did not want to read this again....Gah. It might be bumped up to 2.5. I don't know. Just please don't make me read it again.

I haven't read a book that had this much character development in a really long time. It was great. I loved Sage. She was wonderful <3

3.5/5 stars.

I decided to pick this one up because my roommate was telling me how much she had enjoyed it when she read it a couple of years back. One this she stressed was the male interest in this book. She had fallen in love with him when she read it and she wanted to see if I would fall in love with him too.
I had previously added this book on my ‘to-read’ list but — like many on my list — I had forgot what it was about. I decided to go into this one blind because I haven’t done that in a really long time.
The very first scene of this book caught my attention a lot because it made me uncomfortable. The beginning didn’t really trigger anything for me, but I think for others it could. I’ve never seen a trigger warning on a book before, but I think something should have been put on it. Even if it was just in the synopsis (which on my copy of the book, it was not.)
One thing I really enjoyed about this book was the e-mail interactions between Landon and Jacqueline. I thought that those were the cutest part of the book. Even thinking about them now is making me smile.
I enjoyed Jacqueline and her side characters, but there wasn’t anything about them that really made them stick out in the end.
While reading the book, there was only one thing thing that I was waiting to happen. And, I was surprised when it happened in the middle of the book. I was afraid that because this thing has happened so early in the book that the remainder of the book wouldn’t be as interesting. That was the case for a while, but it picked up quickly after that.
There were a few times that I was turned of by this book because of slut shaming. It wasn’t a big issue, but it was there.
I really commend Tammara Webber for writing about a topic as hard as this one. She wrote in a very sophisticated way that produced a candid story.
I will not be reading the rest of this series, but I am glad that I read the first :)

I had a hard time getting through the first story because it was a mystery, but after I finished it , I enjoyed the book a lot better. The second story was definitely more interesting. I'll read the next installment, just not in a hurry.

Well, this is awkward. Everyone told me I would like this...but I didn't. Amelia was annoying. And, I mean REALLY annoying. Chris annoyed me as well...I really just didn't like it. SO disappointing for me.

DID NOT FINISH

Hmmm. This is somewhat frustrating because I was super excited for this book. I think I just am not into melodramatic teen books anymore. I probably would have loved this when I was younger, but as of right now, I just can't get my head wrapped around it. Nothing was happening. And, to be honest, I'm not quite sure if I cared about what was going to happen. Sorry :/

This little treasure of a book was recommended to me by my librarian at my school. Guys, she's a genius. This book is AMAZING!! I absolutely loved it. I thought I was going to be a little sweet story but it was so much more then that. Beautiful <3
