I found myself really getting into this one. I enjoyed the ending, but I feel like it was a little different than I thought it would be. I was hoping for a little bit more from the ending, however, I did like the book overall :)
This is like a modern “Takes of a Fourth Grade Nothing”! Super fun :)
3.5/5 stars.
I really LOVE this premise. So many people in my life were recommending this book to me and it recently got chosen for the elementary division of Oregon Battle of the Books. My students and I decided to do a little book club for it and it really hit the spot :) Love the POC and queer representation as well!

Very thought provoking and would bring up a bunch of critical conversations with a classroom.
My students are determined to read this book when we come back from spring break so I HAD to read it. They're going to love it! :)
Very beautiful and insightful book especially because I am currently living in Eugene right now. It was really nice to know exactly where Zauner was talking about. The emotional prose in this book that was read by the author in the audiobook really made things wonderful :) I enjoyed this a lot.
