So grateful to have this one in my classroom library!

This book took a little bit of time to grow on me, but it totally had me captivated by the end. UGH! I NEED this in my classroom next year. I will be teaching 5th grade and I think this will be SUCH a beautiful book to read to them. It also has great Native representation that I am always searching for. Lovely lovely book <3

Not my favorite Octavia Butler book but still so so good!

Súper cute! I’m glad to have this one in my classroom library! :)

I read this one because it was in the top 3 of the Booktube prize, which I helped judge this past year. I do think that there is value in this story, lots of it. I found it very interesting to follow this family as they fell apart in many different ways. However, the entire time that I was listening (audiobook) I was comparing it to the books that I wanted to win the Booktube prize. In my personal opinion, I do not think that this book should have won in comparison to the other ones that I wanted to win, but it did. It all comes down to personal opinion. Great story, however, not my winner of the Booktube prize.

This was a sweeping fantasy that is set in the area where I have lived for the last seven years. That part was amazing. However, since I am not a huge fantasy fan, I wasn't super taken away by it.

Not my favorite book but a good sequel to the first!

This was pretty good! I don't think that it blew me away or anything, but it definitely would be some kid's special book out there.

I enjoyed following Mason and the journey that he went on. For someone who does not enjoy mystery, the mystery parts of this book were enjoyable.

Third Read (12/15/21): Read it with my fifth graders and they really enjoyed it!
