This one is very timely with it being set in the pandemic. Definitely one that would get kids thinking and allow for some great conversations.

There was a moment where I thought this book could be on the same track as Evelyn Hugo. It has the potential, but it didn’t quite make it there.

3.5/5 stars.

Really great perspective of having a queer parent and what that could look like from a kids perspective. Also, as a fifth grade teacher, I really enjoyed seeing this all from the perspective of a fifth grader.

3.5/5 stars.

Kids will LOVE this books. I need it for my classroom library!

Wowowowowowowow! It’s been a while since I’ve been captivated by an audiobook in this way. Y’all know I love a taboo situation, but this was just so real. I was screaming SCREAMING about things happening in this book because it was just so real. This is definitely one I will need to return to. Ugh, my heart and my brain.

Hard to listen to because of some of the things that have happened to her, but very good.

This story touched upon some pretty important themes and topics! I’m super grateful to have it in my library :)

A student of mine recommended this book to me! Now I’ll be able to talk with her about it :)
