This one was just okay for me. I will keep it in my classroom library because I know I"ll have kids who do like it, it just wasn't my specific cup of tea.

What an important story.

I am definitely finding a new favorite author in Octavia Butler! I’m going to see if I can read through her cannon by the end of this year ❤️

I read this one because I watched the movie this weekend and sobbed my eyes out. The book and the movie are nearly identical. They did a did a really good job with the interpretation! I do think that I enjoyed the movie slightly better simply because I would not have read the book without it. Overall though, both extremely enjoyable.
