I'm not sure if this book was really necessary. All the negative characters are comically evil, especially Hartley's parents. It would've been enough if, at the end of the previous book from Easton's perspective, everyone had a happy ending and that's it. If I hadn't liked the whole series so much, this would've been even lower than 3 stars. Thank goodness it's over.

This was a reread after many years and I'm glad to confirm - it's still a masterpiece. Amazing interweaving of action and description made me feel like I'm in the hotel with Danny, and together with Jack in his insanity. Couldn't put it down, even though I've already read it. Loved it all over again!

Liked the whole book until the ending. In love with her since she was 13?! And Emma was such an asshole to Harriet. I know it was a different time, but yikes. Really didn't like the main character. I was hoping pairings won't be that predictable at the end, but they were. Glad I've read it, but it didn't amaze me, even if it's ironic and critical of the position of women in early 19th century.

A nice reminder.

It took me a few tries to start listening to the audiobook because the narrator's voice was so soothing that I kept falling asleep. However, when the female narrators appeared, I found my rhythm and thoroughly enjoyed the story to the end. I was deeply entertained by the exploring a mysterious murder from three different family members' perspectives. It was interesting to witness the secrets unraveling and the relationships strengthening as the truth unfolded. I fell for every red herring and was nowhere near guessing who the killer was. The only detail that puzzled me was Andi's situation with the nurse suspecting her of pregnancy, her having her period, and then suddenly being pregnant. Perhaps I missed something, but it seemed like a continuity error. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the story.

First one by Kinsella that was not so funny and engaging to me. It was like - what would happened if Miranda Presley wasn't a bitch? And that option was pretty boring. A lot of underdeveloped and only mentioned characters. Romance with Alex was interesting.

I won't lie, it took me a while to warm up to this story; several times, I even contemplated stopping. However, in the end, it touched my soul, bringing tears to my eyes. A masterful portrayal of a grand narrative in human history through one small, seemingly insignificant life. The magic of words shines brightly here. Ultimately, I'm glad I stuck with this story until the end; I'm not the same person after it.

I don't often read short stories, but this format of the same theme by different authors was super fun. The theme is intriguing, and it was really entertaining to peek into the minds of so many authors in one book. I definitely recommend it!

Hillarious, Jane is so funny!

I've never been so disappointed by a book IN MY LIFE. At the beginning, it seemed so promising - a cute cozy witchy romance, but by the end, I could hardly wait for the suffering to end. I planned to read the whole series, but I don't want to get close to it anymore. The characters are one-dimensional and there are too many of them, the plot is completely senseless, almost unconnected, just a bunch of scenes thrown together. I've never experienced author so visible in the book. And her preachy tone - couldn't immerse myself in the story at all! Horrible. 2 stars only because I'm unable to give one if I've read the book to the end. Plus, I liked the premise and witchy world. I also found the double POV by chapters interesting. Long story short - do not recommend
