Well, this was interesting! I found the first half of the book extremely engaging, even though Theo seemed somewhat lost and passionless, but we'll attribute that to her situation of searching for the best version of herself. However, I got a bit lost in the second half of the book, which had huge time jumps, so the ending surprised me and caught me a bit unprepared, as everything felt quite rushed. I found the portrayal of doomsday preppers in family roles very interesting, as they weren't just one-dimensional crazies. As a European, the extreme polarization of America is a fascinating phenomenon to me. The story was generally quite predictable, but the writing style was intriguing enough that it wasn't a major downside. Overall, I found the characters really likable and well-developed. I look forward to reading more books by the same author!

I hated first two books from The Devil wears Prada series, so it was surprising how much I liked this one. Why? NO ANDY SACHS. Emily is so much more fun. This is very simple, light, feel-good and predictable chick lit, and it's good for what it is. It kept me entertained.

I absolutely loved this one! Listened to it in one sitting while wrapping Christmas presents and had a blast. It's my favorite one in the series. Characters are lovable, I'm so happy Elliot find such a great girl. Made me feel warm inside. When he told her he could be her selfie stick, I audibly laughed. Narrators were great, can't find a single thing that bothered me.

I absolutely love this book! All the characters are so lovable, I adored the transformation Helen went through, and I fell in love with Jake myself! The whole time I thought my rating would be 4 stars, but Pickles' fate with Duncan confirmed that this is a 5-star book for me. The best romantic novel I've read so far.

This book was so much better than I expected after watching the movie. It helped me get through an extremely stressful period in my life and held my attention completely from start to finish. I especially liked that we got to meet so many characters and witness their life stories. It's fascinating how much we influence each other, just like George and Catherine's story influenced everyone else in their small town. I particularly appreciated that the book addressed the suffering of women without portraying every man as a worthless abuser, thus acknowledging their value. That's rare today. The paranormal elements were the cherry on top and I loved them, so subtle yet powerful. Narrator was amazing, I'm looking into other books she narrated. Definitely the biggest surprise among the books I've read this year!

I don't remember when I had so many big feelings after finishing a book. Crazy story.

I realized what's going on before the twist was revealed, but I like the way Ruth writes. Giving hints, obviously stalling, everything is making me turn another page. Considering this was her first book, great job.

This book was a very pleasant surprise and exceeded my expectations, which were shaped by my knowledge of the film. It is excellently written, maintaining a constant tension throughout the story so that you don’t know what is truly happening or who is crazy until the very end. I found it extremely interesting to read about the position of women in the 1960s through a supernatural story and how a woman is willing to love her child even when it's the offspring of the Devil himself. My only wish is that the book had been longer and that certain aspects had been better developed. It somehow ended too quickly for me.

It's amazing how much emotion can envoke such a short story. Only wish it was longer, so I can be with those characters longer. Love it.
