A little less even because of the jumping around in time to follow all the stories. While some were OK, a couple stood out, like Dragonfly, and made the collection a good and substantive addition. I liked interrogating some of the assumptions and discovering Roke in a different context. Tehanu is a hard thing to follow. I’m not sure anything after it would have been 5 stars. But it is still very good.
A perfect ending, I think. Reading them all in order really does make it hard not to appreciate each as they build to the end nicely. It is expertly told and written. There is so many cool things happening in this book, particularly fleshing our dragons and the intricacies of the lore. Excellent stuff.
Loved the transition into a techno thriller, science fiction, fantasy mashup that sprang out of the cyberpunk previous book. There are more characters, arguably a harder structure to work with jumping from character and time period, and has brilliant pacing. It’s a page turner and a wild, awesome ride. Can’t wait for the concluding novel!
It’s got the pacing of a thriller, interesting science, great characters, a good ending, great characters, and time travel that isn’t time travel but kind of is. If you’re wondering if the ending is worth your time: it is. As are all of the books in the trilogy.
A few more interesting revelations about the setting kept up my interest. It’s always tough to keep up the excitement after a first instalment but the author does a great job of pacing everything interesting out. I’ve also guessed why Hoa is educating the main character about their life, which is pretty cool (if I’m right, but I am, I’m sure).
Nassun’s story paralleling it was also interesting, as it revealed more about the mysterious guardians. I enjoy the amount of hard-sci-fi attaches to the fiction as well. Just enough to keep it interesting, not enough to make it boring as all hell, as most hard sci-fi tends to be for me.

Satisfying ending that worked with the reveal that had been teased with the structure of the book. One of my favorite fantasy series so far. A very stark difference from the older fantasy I've been reading. A very pleasant, stark difference.
Unique format, original world building, subversion of tropes, inclusion of a lot of different identities (including trans)—all make this a really great read. The perspective changes initially really annoyed me, especially with the narrator referring to you all the time, as though you were that character.
All of that came together in the end though, thankfully. It took longer than I would have liked to do so but they served a purpose and led to enough satisfaction that, in the end, it’s better for it, I think. Lots of cool reveals and I liked the ending a lot. Will def take up the next book.
