I am super obsessed with Ben Hatke's art style. I started with Julia's House for Lost Creatures and quickly discovered that I really truly needed to read the rest of his books. I love Zita as an accidental hero just looking to save her friend. I love the mismatch of friends and confidants Zita finds along the way. I also really love the cute little creatures she comes across through out the book. But by far my favorite part is the way the story truly relies on the images to tell the story rather than the text. I think that factor would make this a good book for more reluctant readers.
This would be a very fun, interactive book for a preschool or school aged crowd to see if they can follow what animals are missing at various times in the book.
This is a fantastic book. The pictures of the babies are absolutely adorable. I love that the book shows different babies with different looks. This book will be beloved by many young people.
This is a beautiful book! As a book lover the story really spoke to me and my love for reading. I also really liked the illustrations. They're goofy and colorful and very eye catching.
This is a super cute book. I really like the juxtaposition of different pictures and opposite adjectives. This is a perfect book to share with young people in story time for winter.
