I just finished re reading this one because the final book in the series recently released. The first time I read this it was a 5 star, but upon re read I think it falls as more of a 4 star read. While I enjoyed my reading experience I just think that this series does not have the staying power as other series. There's nothing inherently wrong with the book, it is entertaining in the moment, but it is also just not a new favorite.
This story was fantastic! I love the illustrations. I thought this told the story of Jackie Robinson's raise to baseball fame well!
The beginning of this book was incredibly slow for me. While it was necessary to set the scene I felt like it was not super interesting. However once we got to the part of the story where we were following Adrienne and her experience solving the mystery of what happened to her sister I was immediately hooked. The ladies at this social media retreat were just weird enough that I could believe that they were real.
This was an excellent first novel by this author and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.
Thank you so much to Amazon Publishing and Megan Beatie communications for the review copy of this book!

This was so weird, but in such a good way! I had a great time reading this book. I wish I had read more Christopher Pike in my day!
This absolutely gave me flash backs to vacation special tv episodes. I loved following along with each individual character on this vacation. I especially loved Mallory's obsession with Harriet the Spy. I absolutely was that girl! It was fun revisiting something I loved as a kid.
The first book in the Ruinous Love Trilogy is by far my favorite. I think the shock and awe factor wore off a little bit by book 3. I'm still having a good time reading these books, but a little bit of the sparkle has left them the further I got in to reading the series. I will continue to read Brynne Weaver and her books are still absolute favorites!
