Happy Book Birthday to Sedona by Kerry Fryar Freeman!
Thank you to the author and @katerockbooktours for a review copy of this book!
I honestly had no idea what to expect out of this book. I knew it was about a woman who moved to Sedona, Arizona to help with her aging grandmother. And I got the impression that it is Wizard of Oz inspired. Through moving there she experiences a magic that will change her life.
Ultimately my favorite part about this book was getting to experience Sedona through Cal. Contrary to the fact that I found a Sedona shirt in my closet, I’ve never been any where even close to Arizona. The author interspersed so much interesting lore about the area into her story. The fact that Cal gets a job as a tour guide really adds to the experience of being in Sedona through the book.
I also really enjoyed the quirky cast of characters who really rounded out the world.
4⭐️ from me. Go check this one out on Amazon for a funny, warm adventure for the up coming cold winter nights.

I want an audiobook of this story so I can listen to it as a sleep story every night. This was seriously the coziest world I have ever had the opportunity to inhabit for a few hours. If you are looking for a book that IS the Great British Bake Off, but with a little bit of cute romance...this is your book. The plot wasn't really anything surprising, but much like an episode of Bake Off I was just happy to be enjoying the story. I will be reading more books by this author and continuing with the series.
Also there are recipes in the back of the book...so if you get hungry reading about the baking competition you can solve that quite nicely!
Thank you to Nerdfam for offering me an ebook copy of this book for review!

This was my second time reading Fourth Wing. I was nervous to re read this book because the first time I read it this was a 5 star read for me and I read it before there was a lot of hype surrounding the book. The hype made me nervous and made me think that maybe this book was a fluke or just not as well crafted as I remembered.
I loved this just as much the second time as I did the first time. Hype or no I would have read this book. This book and Yarros' writing style is easy to consume in the same way that Twilight was easy to consume when it was first published. The plot has the same intricacies and twists that The Hunger Games still has every time I re read that series.
Is this a perfect book? No. But this book is a fantastic experience to read. Not only because of the actual text itself but because of the community surrounding the people who are reading and experiencing this book.
Everyone is a villain and everyone is a hero in this book how you perceive each character is all matter of perspective.

This book was absolutely perfect for what it is. Sometimes I get frustrated with Hallmark movie type books because they are way too long and I don't want to spend more time reading a Hallmark book than it would take to watch a Hallmark type movie.
While this book's plot wasn't ground breaking or exciting in a sense...that is exactly what I am looking for in a Christmas read. I want a read that can allow me to shut my brain off and just enjoy Christmas vibes.
This is an absolutely fun time. The author has an extensive back list that I am looking forward to exploring.

Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen are my all time favorite children’s book duo. Their books are silly and fun, but the illustrations are perfectly illustrated in muted, antiques tones that make them iconic.
If you haven’t tried a Barnett or Klassen…just do it for the laughs.

I’m several years late to the party for reading the Throne of Glass series. The series is growing on me with each book as far as intrigue is concerned. Each book really adds to the world and the characters. I’m excited to see where this story goes. At the end of the day it is a pretty average new adult fantasy series at this point.

The best way I can describe this book is if high school aged Lorelei Gilmore and a British Logan Huntsberger met at boarding school and then fell in love in a Stars Hollow type town. There are a fair amount of side character plot lines that really fill out the reading experience.
The author of this book has written several Hallmark movies and that shows in this book. While there wasn't anything ground breaking with the actual plot of the story, the magic was in the story telling and the atmosphere of this book. I very quickly fell in love with the characters as well as the quirky little town. I also really appreciated the amount of grown that Finley (female mc) goes through in this story.

Overall I really enjoyed this read. I thought the characters were very well developed and interesting. The chemistry was pretty steamy and believable.
The third act break up wasn’t my favorite. I think there just wasn’t enough there to make me care about why Jude’s parents were jerks. There could have been a bit more background there for me. And in the end I felt like I didn’t get to see as much of Jude’s side of the story between the third act break up and getting back together. I trust that he did the work, but I sort of wanted to see more of the work he was doing.
The third act break up wasn’t my favorite.

A random, late night Christmas book review for you. This was a total impulse read. The audiobook was available on Libby so I popped it on whilst diamond painting.
If you’re a fan of the Chronicle of Narnia this is a fun look at the creation of the story and the impact that stories can have on people.
This was just a wholesomely good read
