I read to 51%. The description of this book made me think it would have everything that I love in a fantasy. I was excited for the games/trials and I was mildly intrigued by the magic system. However, I had a hard time connecting to the characters and caring about the plot.

This is a nice slow burn romance. I found the world building and the lore of this book to be so engaging. I really adored Alexus as a love interest.
