This book is less than 300pg and it took me days to get through. I hate the

insta-love and insta-friend

tropes and this was full of them. Normally I like fast-paced books but this was way too fast. Everything just instantly happened. The LI says he'll tell her his secrets "one day". I didn't think that would mean

literally the next day

. It didn't feel like the story was happening but rather like things were just happening. I'm not sure how to really explain it beyond that. I just didn't feel like I was a part of the story. It felt like I was just reading words and that's it. It's excessively fast-paced but also incredibly boring, predictable, and infuriating at the same time.

....so yeah. It was an immediate DNF to say the least. The lack of content warnings in the synopsis or anywhere on the book is upsetting considering the very sensitive and graphic material which is obviously going to be triggering for a lot of people.
