Review to come!

What a fun, quick horror story centered around a Secret Santa gift exchange! Full review to come!

I don't think I'll ever get tired or bored with the "Say Cheese and Die" books. I actually wish they has been made the "focal duology/trilogy" instead of Monster Blood. There's just something so fun with these books and more real to me, for the time, with a cursed camera vs. some monster blood and slime. Anyway... this book picks up a year after the first book and Greg has to give a report about a true story. His teacher does not believe him and gives him an F for failing to complete the assignment... and now Greg must find the camera, prove its evil and cursed, and make sure no one (especially himself and his friends) are put in any danger!

I have so many questions. For starters, how does a family even find out about this camp where only two kids are sent? Like... no other parent found out about this camp??

But I will give some props to using a few tropes/ tricks that weren't popular or even overused for years later when it comes to ghosts and possession. This came out in 1996 and it likely would have been one of the first instances of such things for me. Fun book and you know I love some camp goodness... 3 stars!

This one starts out with 2 siblings not wanting to go to their grandparents house... uh, excuse me?! Who does not want that and what trauma have you endured to hate them?! Anyway... once we get halfway into the story I understand why! But this is a fun one and the cover reminds me of Monsters Inc (at least the colors, anyway). A fun, swampy, monster-filled story with a pretty ominous ending if you ask me!

You don't have to understand life. You just have to live it.

Oh my gosh! This book was such an amazing journey and it was full of heart, light philosophy, and I can't imagine a path or world where someone does not enjoy it! Exploring aspects of mental health, self-worth, and overcoming your life's list of regrets, The Midnight Library has changed me. This is one of those books that could not have come into my life at a better time... and it is one that I will take with me for as long as I can. I was so moved near the end that I would have been brought to smiley tears (if my tear ducts actually functioned). This book is full of so many lessons and allegories... and it will always serve as a reminder to live life and not to dwell on regrets and all those "What if?" moments. They have value in recognizing and identifying, but our self-worth, the limits we can bypass, and our own life journey is not contingent on any of those things. BURN that painful Book of Regrets. Set it on FIRE! This is just such a fantastic book! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is a different book for the series as it is more fantasy/adventure with some interesting mythology thrown in. It has some of the same tropes: siblings, solving a problem without an adult, spooky things that turn out to not be so spooky, and an ending that will make you think. I just didn't connect with it like I wanted ... still had a good time and the story was fast paced as they encounter one creature/ obstacle after another. 2.5 stars

I've been reading this while playing a game based around it so I am going to count it here! This house is OUT OF CONTROL! So many terrors and death traps.. phew! But it's been so long since I've done a CYOA book and this was just too fun! Looking forward to more!

Hmm... I thought I was going to love this. But it ended up being a cautionary tale to be kind to one another (as you never know the struggles someone is facing) and not to trust everyone you talk to on the internet as the world is saturated with catfish. The story was bleak and morbid, which I don't mind, but the characters and pacing didn't do much to add to any sort of real plot. Everything just fell a little flat for me. I've liked other work from Forsman, this just wasn't my favorite. 2.5 stars

This book just makes me want fall all over again!! What a fun seasonal read and is everything you need or want in a Goosebumps book!
