Feral is my introduction to the mind of Matt Serafini. And what a mind it is! It's always nice to find an author who writes just what you want to read. And when a write does not shy away from the gore is just a bonus! Now, I am not a gore-FIEND by any means, but I would rather it just be laid out there on paper in front of me than daintily skirted around like has happened before with other books. There is no holding back with this one. Time to go pick up the sequel now! I need more and I need it now!

Thanks so much to the author for allowing me the opportunity to listen to this as an audiobook in exchange for an honest review! 4 stars!

Can't say I was the biggest fan of this one. The story seemed like it was on repeat most of the time. Brother A is pranked by Brother B. Parents get mad at Brother A. Brother A plans prank on Brother B that fails. Brother A then hears dogs barking. Repeat over and over until the twist at the end. The twist was fun, but definitely not enough to make this one seem less repetitive. And I do love a house/cabin in the woods scenario which this book also has. 2.5 stars. BUT THIS COVER IS SO RAD!!!

This book was quite the fun read blending some pirate legends, nautical beasty horror, and suspense mystery together. I am a huge fan of both authors as independent writers and I knew I just had to read a collaboration between them. I am not sure the details on the actual collab but I do know the writing seemed seamless and I could not tell where one author stopped and the other picked up the pen. The characters were quite likable and I found myself really feeling a few of them and wanting them to succeed.

4 stars!

Hunter Shea created a sharky creature feature with wit, comedy, and terror. I really enjoyed this book from the first chapter. We meet a man who is really down on his luck and is seemingly an outsider. But then he wins the lottery and organizes a get-together with all his friends from his youth. After they all get reacquainted, he tells them he won the lottery and that he bought an island and wants them all to live there with him and never want for ANYTHING. The island has secrets buried deep (literally). And the island is about to get a megalodon visitor! 4 stars and I recommend this if you enjoy tales of survival and creature features!

4 or 4.5. Gotta let this one resonate a bit. Full review to come!

4.5 stars! I have always loved Batman's villains far more than Batman himself. Poison Ivy and Catwoman are two of my favorites and it was a lot of fun reading this as they are alongside Harley for a litle trip of roommates and the shenanigans they get into. Hoping to pick up Book Two ASAP!

5 stars! LOVED it!!! Full review to come

I lucked out again and this awesome author sent me a free copy of this book for an honest review. This is my second book by Newman and while it was different than Odd Man Out, there were some things that were similar: crowd psychology and social norms, the monsters that live inside us, and just sheer fear and terror. I found that the more of this book I read, the faster I was turning the pages. It's almost as if my excitement, anxiety, and fear were all linked to the main character's as his story unfolded. People are just assholes. Conformity can lead to bad decisions. And you can find hope in the last place on earth you'd think to look. Another 5-star review from me for James Newman. I am officially a fan for life!
