I can't even describe how amazing this book is. I have seen the movie dozens of times but it does not compare to the mental anguish and physical torment that Paul Sheldon undergoes in this book - Annie Wilkes is seriously the most cockadoodie nutcase in literature! LOVE THIS BOOK!
I was a little nervous about reading this book - I had a fear that it would be boring and not scary at all. I mean it's 2017 and how can a Saint Bernard be scary? I am happy to say I was very wrong. This book hooked me from the very beginning as being dark, sinister, haunting, and thrilling. I was totally unprepared for the greatness in my hands. There is so much more to this book than "a big dog with rabies who traps a mother and son in her Pinto." This book ROCKED!
OK well. How do you write a review of your favorite book ever? I mean how can you even do the book justice with just words alone? I can't. I just know that this book changed me and encourage everyone to read it. This is King's masterpiece!
I enjoyed this book because it was entirely different from anything by Patterson that I have read in the past. The book had a good message that, as a friend summarized for me, "help others, be humble, and you don't always have to live the way society deems."
I had no idea what this book was about before reading. I just heard if you like IT by Stephen King then you will love this. And that was an accurate assumption! It has a good Stranger Things vibe to it, too! I highly recommend this to everyone. It's intense, epic, scary, magical, and just a great story.
I can't believe how impressed and entertained I was with this book. And I never even heard of it until a few weeks ago and it's been or for almost 40 years! I had no idea where I was going to end up, which made the ending even better!
