I was really excited about this but then it felt kinda flat for me. Was a bit rushed and didn't give me enough time to form a connection with any of the characters. Did make me hungry though 😉

This was sooooo SWEET ugh 😩

Literally could NOT stop reading ✨

*I do not rate memoirs

This was short, sweet and creepy, exactly what I was hoping it was gonna be. I loved the atmosphere and the horror/cottagecore vibes and even though at times I was a bit confused as to what was actually happening or why THE MAIN EVENT happened, I still very much enjoyed this.

**to be fair, I listened to this as an audiobook, which is something I'm not used to and my mind tends to wander as well, so I don't entirely blame the writing for anything I missed.

As a person who also left her country for another city, this book hit really REALLY close to home. Daphne's inner monologue was very interesting to read and the author has establish herself as one of the authors I'll be looking out for in the future, cause her prose was lovely!

**the only thing that I didn't like was the fact that Daphne didn't have a job and just relied on her parents for money for everything, it just didn't sit right with me and didn't make me relate to her as much as I wanted to.

Loved EVERYTHING about this, from the art style, the story, would definitely read again!!

Writing and illustration style were soooo up my alley, this was lovely!

Even though I started this fully invested in the story, I quickly lost interest. I don't know if it was a point of length, the book being so short that didn't allow us for a more in depth view of the characters or if it just wasn't the story for me.

Was really into the whole 1960s-1970s vibe, but didn't enjoy how everything was so connected, cause even though the plot twists were supposed to shock me, they achieved the opposite.

As wholesome as the first volume, was really nice to see the gang grow

IN LOVE
what a ride...what a RIDE

Literally just another reason to fangirl over V.E. Schwab cause this book has everything I needed! It was so easy to read, it flowed so nicely and it almost felt cinematic the way she was jumping between timelines, settings, characters! Would love to see that as an animated TV show ✨
