dark mysterious medium-paced

For me, this started as a slow burn, but once things got moving, they really took off. The twists and turns were absolutely phenomenal. This story was such a perfect blend of paranormal, sci-fi, and horror romance. It definitely kept me guessing, and when the twist hit, I was flabbergasted. If you like a good thriller blended romance I definitely recommend.

My rating for this book is 4.25, and I never round down for an author, so it gets 5 stars for "Godheads." This is a solid read! It’s my first book by NJ Week, and I will definitely be adding her catalog to my TBR.

The story is set in Sleepy Hollow and is Halloween-themed. Maddox sees Blair outside a diner one day, and that’s it for him, he’s done in. The stalking in this book spans 15 years, FYI, and it has a nice Scooby-Doo-style plot twist at the end. If you want a hot Halloween-themed stalker romance, this should be on your reading list!

This was a quick read, full of triggers and plenty of spice. It’s a taboo (step-siblings) dark romance and is well written. If you're looking for something Halloween-themed that’s quick and intense, like a one-night stand, this is it. I’d give it an 8 out of 10 and would recommend it.

Caution Tape was definitely a slow build, but once it got started there was no end to the erotic horror side of things. It tells the story of two psychopaths meeting, and from there, the unhinged chaos begins. Getting into the mind of Cora the FMC and Nolan the MMC was interesting, they were the same animal but different breeds. So It did start off slow for me, but once it picked up, it held my interest. I know this book won't be for everyone, so please check your triggers before reading—there’s a long list of gore. All in all, though, it was a good read.

Carnival Monster is a stalker romance set around Halloween, though the holiday serves more as a backdrop than a central theme. Despite being a novella, it packs quite a punch. The stalker MMC, Gage, works as a carnival hand and crosses paths with the FMC, Aurora, in a haunted house, this is where everything begins to unfold. The story has plenty of spice but also offers a decent plot. If you're looking for something steamy with a bit of depth, I’d definitely recommend this one! Oh yeah and it does have a HEA.

Grave Dissonance is the third book in the Rhythm and Tempo series, and I think it might be my favorite one. This MM Rockstar Romance actually had me feeling all the emotions toward the end. It’s a novella, so I’ll keep my summary short and sweet. The story centers around Marley, the keyboardist, and Iggy, the guitarist for Gutless Void, and their friendship that evolves into something more. I have to warn you, you may fall in love with Marley. I definitely did. The found family in these books warms my heart.

The book touches on some mental health issues, so check your triggers. The writing is 5 stars, the spice is 5 stars, and the characters are also 5 stars. If you enjoy MM romance or romance in general, this book is definitely for you. I 100% recommend it!

I’m going to need CJ Riggs to come to the front, please. This book was brilliant. It’s well-paced from start to finish, and what a finish it had! I don’t want to give anything away, but this has all the snark, action, and spice needed for a great time. I definitely recommend this book.

Cry Little Sister is part of The Exodus Series Standalones, which includes 7 books by 7 amazing authors. They all share the same world but tell their own individual stories. It’s such a cool concept because these stories overlap at various points both on and off the pages surrounding a specific night called "The Reckoning".

The Reckoning.
All crime is legal on the night of the Reckoning.  Truly, anything goes.  There are no rules and nothing is off-limits when The Exodus plays their games. The event that happens only once every ten years.

First, please check the triggers. This is a taboo dark romance involving half-siblings, so if that’s not your thing, it’s best to skip this one. It’s part of The Exodus Series Standalones, which includes 8 books by 9 authors. Since this is a novella, I’ll try to give you a brief summary without spoilers. The first 6 chapters tell the story of Dahlia and Jaxon when they are 11 and 13 years old and first meet. Then, it jumps to the present day, with Dahlia at 22 and Jaxon at 24. The story is wild! I don’t often read taboo romance, but this was extremely well-written. It delves into their first meeting, their relationships with their parents, and their mental health. And yes it is SPICY. This is the first nook I have read by Willow McQuerry and now I will definitely be checking out other works by this author.

Plot or Character Driven: A mix

This was a ride. First and foremost, this is an Erotic Horror, so please check the triggers. Elijah and Rain are back, and if you don’t know who they are, you’re on Book 2—Book 1 is Haunted by the Devil.

I appreciate that this book picks up right where the last one leaves off, and the references to the first book help jog your memory. We also get to meet Elijah’s dad, Nathan, aka Nate, and see the dynamic of their relationship. Along with that, we get small glimpses into Elijah’s childhood. And then there’s the spice and gore. There’s one scene where I actually held my breath. Elijah and Rain complement each other and share a bond that is unmatched. The story strikes a perfect balance of blood, plot, and spice. 10 out of 10.
