In my previous review of the first installment in this series, I mentioned that Leon is a character who raises some serious concerns. Well, in this second book, it's safe to say that Zane has completely embraced the red flag! I'm eagerly anticipating the release of the third installment on 8/31/2023. I'd give this book an 8 out of 10 and definitely recommend it if this genre is your cup of tea. Just a friendly reminder to please take a moment to read the trigger warnings before diving in
Does this book venture into unconventional and controversial themes? Undoubtedly. But can I classify it as the most thrilling read I've come across this year? Unfortunately, no. My opinion on this book remains somewhat ambiguous, my fellow readers. Although I hold P. Douglas in high esteem, I can't help but feel that as the story wrapped up, there was untapped potential for deeper exploration. Perhaps my craving for more depth influenced this view. Nevertheless, it's worth emphasizing that this book does provide a worthwhile reading experience.
This marks the first time in quite a while that I've delved into a story featuring bisexual male characters, and let me tell you, it's undeniably alluring. With a cast of four underdogs and one tormentor, they exact their revenge with a sensual twist (cue dramatic music). I genuinely feel like I'd love to be friends with these men. The camaraderie they share is palpable, and immersing yourself in their world truly makes you feel like an honorary member of their family. You become intimately acquainted with each character, each bearing their own captivating tale. I devoured this book at an astonishing pace; I could hardly bring myself to put it down. A resounding 10/10 recommendation from me.
"Malfus: Necromancer Unchained" — Let's kick things off with the cover: as an artist myself, I have to say I absolutely adored the cover art. It sets the tone beautifully for what awaits within. This book is exceptionally well-written, with vivid descriptions that truly immerse you in the story. It offers a captivating character journey, packed with action, gore, and a dose of sarcasm. I didn't quite know what to anticipate when I picked up this book, given that the author was new to me, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow readers.
If you haven't read the preceding book of this series, it's crucial to catch up before diving into this one. "This book primarily centers around Will," and rest assured, no spoilers here. Will grapples with his own trauma, sending him spiraling in the previous books. Readers are treated to an in-depth exploration of his personal challenges. Also one who savors unexpected plot twists, I'm thrilled to report that this book does not disappoint. Watching the horsemen mature and evolve over the course of the series has been a experience and I hope that this is not the end. Up Next is Fire Night.
This was a nice Novella in the Devil's Night Series. Quick read and Entertaining.
I wish I had discovered this book prior to diving into the Devil's Night Series, but I ended up reading it after. While it came last in my reading order, it certainly didn't rank lowest among the Thunder Bay boys' stories. Penelope skillfully introduced an intriguing twist to the narrative, much to my delight. Misha and Ryen complemented each other perfectly as characters, creating a harmonious dynamic, and the book proved to be a smooth and enjoyable read.
This book offered quick reading experience, yet it remained satisfying throughout. It was my first time reading Santana Knox and now that I have I feel the need to check out all of her books. It didn't just feature not one or two, but a captivating trio of red flags, which always pique my interest in a "why choose" storyline. The plot was well-crafted, leaving ample space for both a prequel and a sequel, which I can only hope for. I did wish she went in more on the characters past but like I said there is room for a prequel.
