This is not my usual genre, I am known for seeing a book tagged horror and walking the other way. I am so glad I didn't this time.

This book was recommended to me on TikTok. Someone suggested it as a book that Eddie Munson from stranger things would like and I completely agree.

I would recommend it to any music fan for the music references alone. 

My only complaint about the book is that it should have been longer. This was an hour and a half movie, when it should have atleast been a ten part tv series. The character relations were great and everyone has full back stories that they use to motivate their actions. I just want to see more of them. 

The book was really good, do give it a read.

This is not my usual book, I am not usually a fan of true crime, I read it due to a book bingo challenge. 

Having said that, I did enjoy the book, the information was interesting and easy to digest. If this is your preferred genre you may get more out of it than I did. It is good enough that I did finish the book and I don't regret reading it. 

I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did. I went in expecting the usual romance heavy reverse harem, with a little bit of a plot to justify the romance, and I am so glad I was wrong.

The plot is robust with many unexpected twists and turns. The characters are all fully fleshed out with individual characteristics and motivations. And the romance is well woven into the story.

This book blew my mind, especially towards the end I was not expecting it and would greatly recommend giving it a read.

I think I'm going to need to give this book a couple rereads, it was hard to get through only in that it hit closer to home than I would like. These were words I needed to read but showed me truths I wasn't sure I wanted to face.

I would recommend giving it a try.

The essays in this book look at the queer and not so queer but should have been queer representation in 2000s pop culture.

It's a beautifully written look at how pop culture has shaped the lived experience. Showing how the media we consume shapes our thoughts with realistic depictions we can relate to as well as unrealistic or implied gayness such as the "Is Dumbledore actually gay?" debate.

Overall I highly recommend giving it a read, as someone who identifies as LGBT+ you might find some or a lot of this is relatable, but even if you don't identify on the queer spectrum, I still urge you to read the book.

Overall it's not badly written and I usually like the idea of the reverse harem trope, I just couldn't get invested, the storyline seemed to jump about and the characters didn't get enough time to be fully developed. 

Having reread this series after many years, I was extremely happy to find it still holds up to my memories of it. 

I would highly recommend giving it a read.

Full of Sir Terry Pratchett's 
Wonderful wit and colourful characters. I would definitely recommend giving any or all of the discworld novels a read. There are however some discworld novels I love that little bit more than this one.
