This book was the perfect combination of spice, angst, and sweet romance. So much so that I read it in one sitting. If you’re looking for spicy romance with only enough angst to move the plot (but keep your anxiety down) I highly recommend this book!

dark mysterious sad
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

DISCLAIMER: I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway.

In fact, I was a little nervous that the first book I won wasn’t going to be as good as I had hoped, but it was better!

So, nothing gives me the heebie-jeebies like mean, creepy kids- this book started off intense and kept it going the whole way through. While my initial note about the kids in this book was “What are these, children of the corn?” They very quickly became multidimensional characters.

In fact, I was invested in every character in this book- even the ones I had my suspicions about! Sure, there were some that I pinned as the perpetrator from the get go, but there were enough moments that made my doubt myself enough to keep guessing. And lets be real- everyone in this book feels a bit shystie.

Honestly, this book had tears pricking the back of my eyes multiple times throughout the story. The characters all had so many layers to them, the scene was always set beautifully, and my hurt was definitely hurting at the end.
