This book is very 2000s in way women are written and handled. Lots of ‘slut’ and ‘skank’ in this book from a very unlikable FMC. I think there was supposed to be humor in this, but either way the writing and I just didn’t jive.
I stopped at 12% because the characters in this book are all adults, but act like absolute children! Mid-twenties into their thirties and none of them know how to do more than stick their tongues out at one another and call each other names.
Then I stared at him a second longer and thought, I’m going to spit in his mouth the first chance I get, and decided maybe the growing-up thing was a stretch. Luckily, all I decided to say was, “I do know what that’s like, shitface.”
Beyond that, the way the author chose to describe her characters was with clunky info dumps and odd descriptions.
“He’s out with his friends,” the redheaded woman who had given birth to me, explained quickly
His “ha!” made me get my middle finger ready. “Don’t even pretend. You used to always come home talking about him,” the five-foot-seven-inch man who had always been a perfect balance between a supportive older brother and an annoying pain in the ass with boundary issues claimed.
Ultimately, it was the completely mean spirited way the FMC described her brother that made me quit.
I think I’d really like this if I read it vs. listened to the audio book. Unfortunately, I don’t like the narrator.
Honestly, reading this felt like I was reading a full length novel with no ending in sight. There just wasn’t enough happening to keep things interested and by 30% I couldn’t read more than a paragraph before my mind started wandering.
The writing felt incredibly juvenile and unfortunately, nothing captured me in the beginning.

No actual rating on this one as I DNFed this book on page 161. Forgive me, but I listened to BookTok when I should have just listened to my gut. The fact of the matter is that there is better werewolf smut on Ao3. And by better I mean- has significantly more consent, plot, and character development.
I want my money back.
Spoiler Liz continues to furiously struggle beneath my huge form trying to get away from us. I’m doing my best not to bruise her little body, but she’s putting up one hell of a fight. I’m ashamed at how much I crave this. I don’t enjoy her fear, but the need to punish and condition her? I’m a sick, sadistic fuck for how much I desire just that.
This girl who has been brutalized in the past definitely needs to be conditioned and punished. This entire book is a walking red flag and I think I’ll head to Ao3 now.

Graphic: Misogyny, Rape
DNFed at 47%. The sex was…dull. Orgasms were earned too easily and there really wasn’t anything for me to connect with- the main characters have no personality.
