This book absolutely destroyed me and the ending had me in tears at the major cliffhanger. I’m so invested in these characters now that even the ones you’re not really supposed to like tear out your heartstrings.

After the ending of the previous book, I was curious what would happen to the Vega twins in this one and it was so much more than I could have imagined.

There were the standard college crap between the heirs and the twins but also so much more happened that I didn’t expect. The book had me laughing, yucking (Washer iykyk), kicking my feet in excitement, and absolutely crushing my soul into tears.

If you haven’t read this series, maybe give it a go cuz man it grew on me hard!

This was a quick read for me. Though it’s listed as YA, it’s almost borderline middle grade.

Serena Valentino put an interesting spin on the Wicked Queen’s story from Snow White where The Queen’s personal flaws about her vanity cause her to go down a rabbit hole of poor self esteem. The book begins just before The Queen marries The King (Snow White’s dad) and follows the Queen’s story to the end of Disney’s interpretation of Snow White.

The POV of this book is in a third person but read more like first person, which was a little strange for me.

Overall, pretty good story, I might end up reading the next one in the series which focuses on Maleficent.

I’m on a total CN Crawford kick and I absolutely crushed Avalon Tower this week đŸ€©. The first book in the series brings together Nia and Raphael in a slow burn with some hefty miscommunication that even occurred years before the book’s first chapter.

The unique magic systems used to spy on the Fey and dismantle the veil. Then, think King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table but give them more magic, make them spies, and make them part of the British Military Intelligence units. It led to a powerful and fast paced novel that didn’t feel like it was more than 500 pages.

The FMC and MMC play the long game and the spicy content in this book is pretty tame for a NA book but it’s still explicit. CN Crawford knows how to build the tension between love interests.

I was engrossed with the plot, the characters, the thrill of the spy craft from the prologue to the final sentence. The plot points were unexpected and some of the twists were stress inducing while others had me kicking my feet in delight.

Perfect for those who loved: A Trial of Sorcerers by Elise Kova, Trial of the Sun Queen by Nisha J Tuli, Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, and The Spoken Mage series by Melanie Cellier.

Told in a dual POV between Rose and Luc, Jillian Witt includes more world building, friendship and relationship building, all while keeping the plot moving towards the ultimate goal. A fast read which made me begging for more after an ending that was a bit cliffy!

The way we are introduced to how Rose creates her magical weapons for magical fae as well as the bonds made between the various characters made this book an excellent addition to the Compass Points series.

I will definitely be reading the next one when it comes out.

The final book of this trilogy didn’t disappoint. There was a lot of drama and some miscommunication between the FMC and MMC but as the plot progressed, trust grew between them again and the ending was excellent.

I’m glad that Orion and Rowan grew more as characters though the plot seemed a bit rushed at times. I also really liked that the epilogue occurred 13 years after the final battle and showed how things had developed in the City of Thorns.

Such a different vibe from the main characters in this book but I was living for the love-hate relationship between Orion and Rowan.

A bit spicier than the first book of the series, there is also a lot more intense fight scenes as the underworld plays a major part of the setting.

I was shocked with how the fight at the end of the book went and I’m really curious as to where the last book is going to go after all of the information shared in this book about Rowan and Orion’s pasts.

Such a fun book! I absolutely love CN Crawford’s writing and this book started off great.

The combination of spice, demons, revenge plots, chaos, repressed memories and an even hotter Lord of Chaos đŸ€€ mix in this fast paced novel that I devoured in a day!

There was witty banter, a high stakes trial, deadly oaths, and a romance plot that made me think that demons can be sexy too.

I had been putting this book off for a long time and finally decided to pull it off the shelf. Sadly, I wasn’t a fan. The world building was complex and the excess of characters who got nothing really accomplished in the entirety of the book.

Even by the end of the book, I didn’t really feel invested in the plot nor the characters and even felt that the climax fell a bit flat.

After reading the first two from this series earlier this spring, I finally got my copy from the library to read this Rapunzel retelling. Marissa Meyer has an interesting take on the Rapunzel story.

I felt like this book was a bit of a filler book in the story as the main plot line of the series didn’t feel like it progressed much over the 552 pages.

I’m still invested enough in the general plot to find and restore the Lunar Princess to the Throne while overthrowing Queen Livanna to continue on with the series
