Same as the first. Thin story, blurry action, weird humor, definitely not for me!

That was bad! Another one where I don't get the hype. Maybe I"m just too old for this kind of story. I find it so cheesy and nothing happen. The contemporary gets way too much place versus the fantasy/magical element in my opinion. I was expecting way more. I'm also tired of author building story out of diversity, diversity should be present don't get me wrong, but it should be in the story, include, not build upon, because when build on it, it look cheap, force and often seem unrealistic like someone push it deep in our throat. When it's smoothly include and part of the story, we get the experience, we think about it, we see it evolve and we get an overall better experience. This book was clearly not written for me, but I did give it a try and didn't like it.

This will be my last Lapena book! Her last two ones just let me down too much. This one is a bit better than the previous one, but the trope was just done a million time and not one of my favorite, the crazy-ex/affair coming back at you. It was easy, the characters were totally flat, blank and uninteresting. Plus, that one is personal, the hard time of woman/pregnancy/motherhood is very far away from my reality and what I find interesting in a book, hell it doesn't look that good in real life, not living it but talking about it, so reading a book where this is everywhere... Not much for me! It has an audience for it, I'm sure she will have a nice author career and selling, but for me I'm at a point in my life where I follow/read way too many author and book release and I have to choose who is really worth reading and who can bring something new, interesting or meaningful to me and Shari Lapena is just not it!

Nope! I try so hard, but I didn't like this book. The way the author tell is story isn't captivating for the reader at all, the way he tells it makes some parts or elements in it really hard to believe. And overall it was just a hard young life drug/thug story we've already seen. I'm not discrediting what the author has gone through at all, but for a reader, there isn't much to learn from here.

I never was able to get into those short stories. Their are weird and dark, but in a weird way, like dark place to be in your head or mindset and not like a dark thriller. I like the style of those stories and I should have like them, but I didn't. I think the lack of final twist, or big twist, and the very slow pace were two elements then downgrade my appreciation. I'm not sure I get what the author was trying to do or say, for me this look to be just weird be the sake of it. Something was missing for me!

What a disappointment!!! It isn't a thriller! It's a cheap melodramatic affair story! The plot is ridiculous from start to finish. The characters are all dumb and dumber! The ending is totally improbable! I also hate the way it present men in this book, like they all are potential cheater on they wife and that they always act/talk/think very obsessively about sex. What an old overuse and stupid clichés, yes their are men like that but not all of them! Come on... It also have a strange way to present women, like small fragile creature, dependent of men... We are deep deep into the men vs women stereotypes here! Not much good to say about it! Finally, I can say the writing was alright, good enough for this kind of book in term of style, but the narratives aspects of this book, all of time, totally kill it! A generous two stars!

Another good one in this amazing series! Only two at this point , but two good one! Lot of action, wonderful art, good cast, I particularly like the character development job on Red Hood., and strong story! Lot of fun!

Short stories... I like the first one, the others didn't worth it in my opinion.
