Tomura isn't only the best villainy of the series, but he is truly one of the best characters and the origin part of this volume prove it again! Strong background character and a strong plot evolution made this one a very good one!
I didn't like this book. The art, the story, even the writing left me a weird feeling. Something just didn't seem right with it and it didn't seem to bring anything new or interesting enough to make it worth it in my opinion!
Great indies read!! A slow burner mystery that take time to breath and let you enjoy the great arts description. I love the way the art world is set in this book, you felt it, you live it and it was very believable. The characters were well develop and interesting and I also like the ending with a open place for a sequel. That's a good example of why i want to read so much indies books, for those rare gems we fine, not that often, but always so satisfying when we do!
2,5/5. I like this book a lot until the last 60 pages. It was good the southern gothic vibes was great, the characters a bit too stereotypes but nothing really bothering me. The writing was also good, the ambiance was there, nothing extraordinary, but a lot of fun. Unfortunately, in the end, there was a lot of non-sense, action that seem force into the story and some weird narrative choice that kind of loose me. Maybe it was just personal taste, but i thought the book denatured itself in the end and become something it wasn't meant to be and lost what was making it good until then. I'm curious to read more from Cherie Priest and I will, but I'm a bit disappointed by this book who was going to be a good four stars until the ending came...

The more teens school days were a bit less interesting for me, but there wasn't that much. I like the fairy tales sides of it a lot with that parallel world, the grimmy style it has and the art is also good. I'm not hooked, but definitely curious to see more!
Lot of world building. The Battle Royale part became a lot clearer in this second volume. There is also some interesting characters development and less teeny stuff. I had the first two, and finishing this one, I want more from it so I will try to find some more of them and order them to continue one.
What I really like about it I think is the fact that it's truly well balance. The art is good, the world is fun, there is action but also a solid story. not inutile gore or gross and no unnecessary sexual graphic content, which is quite often the case in manga, which can be okay too, but if you're looking to get to younger reader and get them into manga than you should be aware of the age you're targeting and produce material according to it. This series does it perfectly so far!
