Good book that present, in a story form, the basis of karate. So it could help kids learn about it and then maybe decide if they want to try it for real or not. Juts a good and fun way to learn about something and maybe expand your horizon a bit. Well executed!

A very simplistic art style but that I still find very charming! The story is more of a presentation on what is school and what we do there by an older sister to her younger brother. Useful to present to children before beginning school so they can expect it in a positive way and that can help relieve some tension/anxiety that some children might have before going through this big step of their life. Well done!

Good and positive story about inter generational friendship, those kind of story always made me feel melancholic about time when young ones could learn from the old smart and gentle neighbor while helping him and nobody was scare or thinking crazy stuff about the old guy, he is just a generous and good old dude, not some crazy maniac... Anyway I like the story, it was simple, but it made me feel good and in the end isn't what story, especially children story, are about!

A over simple story that take easy way out. It just seem to skip big part of the story to go from A to C by skipping B and it just felt like a fragmented story to me, which I know sound weird speaking of a children book, but it had an continuity to it. Felt weird. I almost wonder if my edition was missing pages...

Nice one! The art was very beautiful and fun to watch for children. The story was funny, convivial and we felt the family love in it which was great. It also bring the value of family, helping each other, working together, and cooking together. The easy short and simplistic sentences make it great for beginners readers and I also like the idea of adding the recipes at the end which is a nice add-on. Great job!

This was «cute» but not much more to me. The art was very modern and eye catching, good point, but the story/concept an allegory of school involving train wagon's instead of student is alright but nothing new and just left me on my appetite quite a bite. Lack of something to make it reach a higher level!

I experience this book as a wordless one, but I think something was wrong with my NetGalley copy of it because I'm not sure it's suppose to be. The art was interesting the way it help seeing the reality versus the girl imaginative stuff is very well done, in a simple way, but it worth really great. Can't say much more... But from what I've seen this might be worth looking. If this is really wordless then it should have something more to it...

A book that try to bring to much and just lost itself. Is it a book about family, music, accordion, culture, etc. All of ti but at the same time so few element of each that it became about any of it. It also has some elements of Spanish and specific music term, without any glossary or translation or anything so it might be confusing for some reader, especially young ones. Good idea, but a total failures in the execution! Sorry...

An anecdote turn into a book, tell in a very slow and not really captivating/interesting way. Not worth it in my opinion, just trying to float on historical people notoriety!

3,5/5. Mixed feeling with this book! First the art was so great! A bit sketchy minimalist but I really like the result it gave. Unfortunately the story was okay, but just okay, a friendship between a boy and his dog, well done, but not the most original work here, the humor was fine but the lack of originality drop my rating a bit!
