3,5/5. That was weird enough! The sketchy style gave me a hard time differentiating the characters, but I still like the artwork even with that little problem of mine. The story is dark, of course it's about Jack The Ripper and written by Alan Moore so weird and dark was more then probable here. I like it, fine it interesting in every possible way, but it won't reach an instant classic level for me. it was kind of far from what I do like to read in comic/graphic novel so that was a factor and I just... I don't know. Good, worth reading but maybe not an essential read like a lot of people think!
Black Hammer, Vol. 4: Age of Doom, Part Two
Dave Stewart, Todd Klein, Dean Ormston, Jeff Lemire, Rich Tommaso
So more then probably the end for the Black Hammer series, might see others universe related story but for the main one, yeah... probably done and it shows a bit of, wouldn't say lack of ideas, but let's say a slower originality or vision in the overall plot. This one might not be the best as an stand alone issue, but truly a great way to wrap things up, close the door and say proper goodbye to this great cast. It was a funny ride I enjoy the humor, the arts (the first part of this one was weird though...) and the universe that really bring something deeper then the first look might made you think. I series I would definitely recommend for the comic lover!
Interesting book about feelings and how they are all important, even the one we don't like. As we follow a young girl who try to deal with all those different emotion in her day to day school/family life. A bit too much text, a bit long, for the targeted reader, but still a good read worth the time and which should open up for an important discussion!
This book was awesome! Such a great message in it and the artwork was stunning. Very fine line work and few colors but the result was very beautiful. I like everything about this one! Great job!
Batman: The Doom That Came To Gotham
Troy Nixey, Dennis Janke, Mike Mignola, Richard Pace, Bill Oakley, Dave Stewart
Take the Batman universe and mixed it with some Lovecraft mythos and then you got this book! Not the best Batman, not a very close adaptation of the Lovecraft universe, but a fun and entertaining comic. Just don't take it too seriously, enjoy the ride and the many reference! Have fun! I did!
I didn't enjoy this one much. I try to represent some kind of natural cycle of life, which is cool, but the way it presented it... just makes it boring. The presentation of the actual interesting content should have needed a bit more work and a bit more love in my opinion!
Interesting and complex «new» (at least it was to me, not sure if it was anywhere else in the Batman universe but I never heard of him) villain. A bit slow on the action but a good story evolution. Tynion hold on good so far!
Not the biggest Elise Gravel fan, mostly one hit / one miss for me. This one was a miss. Typical art from the author but, not that the book was bad, but I never really was a fan of those documentary/informative book mixed with light humor. Just not my style!
