2,5/5. Well this one have everything to please me but the unbalanced of those elements make me loose interest very quickly. Too much easy humor, not «mature/adult» enough, not enough action, it remind me of Black Hammer for some reason but not on the same level (BH is way better!!!). Many have told me that the Netflix adaptation is better so I might try it anyway but not sure... this first volume let me down hard... I won't continue reading it for that at least is certain! Not that it was that bad, just clearly not my style!

4,5/5. Still very good! Lot of action, mostly in school, but also a bit of villain fighting. Some characters keep getting stronger, deeper, some less present in this one too. A good continuation!

Another one of those that started good and original but soon felt into the same old fantasy things and totally loss what was making it interesting in the beginning...

I read the book over a decade, or close, ago and only once, so it's hard to compare. I've seen the movie many many times, mostly during my teens years... yep... And from all those foggy memories this might be closer from the movie then the actual book. Anyway this was funny! Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas might be one of the craziest drug trip cult book/movie pop culture of all time. This is wild! The art was well done and really participate in creating this strange and intoxicate ambiance. A very unique story, not for everybody that's for sure, but if you like it, or don't mind going out of your zone, this is definitely a piece of anthology right here! (and don't stop here, the movie has to be seen (Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro), and the book has to be read!). Classic!

This isn't a novel. This is a pamphlet of personal vision of the world by the author. Claire North is always a must read for me. I read every book by her. I started reading her in French translation but for some reason she doesn't seem to be translated anymore so I decided to pick up where I left in English this time. She always has very intriguing premises and even if her ending where not always as good as her book, she did a good job every time so far. But this one... There is mostly no story, the small part there is is very repetitive and which a touch of what I would call British humor that didn't get well with my French Canadian humor style. But what mostly displease me was how much everything is just a pretext, an excuse, so can the author can tell us her opinion on every world problem there is right now. I agree with her more often then not, but the problem wasn't a divergence of opinion between the reader that I'm and the author that she is. My problem was that picking a Claire North novel was for me to read a good original and thrilling science-fiction/fantasy read. I don't mind mixing fiction with some facts or some personal thoughts here and there, but in this one, the personal thoughts represented around 80% of the book, that left very little space for the story. And I insist on thoughts, this aren't facts, some resonated with facts of course, but it's her own opinion that we get here and nothing more! This wasn't what I was expecting. This wasn't what I want. And I didn't like it. I do respect what she is trying to do, I love reading her style in her own language for the first time, and I did like the way she had with chapters format, or maybe more the overall organization of her book, exploring the world of her story in an unique way. But again, and I will quit eon that, this isn't a novel and I think that marketing it the way the publishing did gets a lot of reader to read something that they didn't want, maybe if readers where going in knowing what this truly is, then the overall ratings would be better. I will read the next Claire North for sure, I know that she has at least one, if not two, already out that I didn't read yet, but I hope she gets back to what she does best in my own personal opinion, which is telling great story with and original take to it.

Not sure about this one. I got it as an ARC and some panel really seem unfinished, was it part of the style, all of the art look a bit sketchy, which I enjoy I'm not saying that negatively, but some of it really look unfinished... anyway! I wasn't a big fan of the story, never read the original source material so I can't compare... but I find the rhythm to slow for me in a graphic novel format, maybe the novel would be a better choice for me. I never really engage in it...

3,5/5. A simple but funny and cute story about a family that is having problem with skunks. The skunks and bad odor problem will be a laugh factor for sure with the kids and all of the book is well illustrated. Not necessarily my kind of book, but a book that achieve its purpose with a good execution!

Finally the end. A series that have been stretch for too long in my opinion and this one was again mostly the same. I enjoy the last 30-40 pages where we really felt the end and Kirkman did a good job at closing it all and provide an interesting ending.

You know... Jeff Lemire!
