An homage to weirdness in love and how it's good to be with a love one in a sort of web comic style. Very light with an humor that didn't get to me and not deep enough to make it worth it in a more philosophical way. Felt a bit empty to me!
Various questions and answer on many scientific subject. I enjoy the concept of the book but find some answer a bit over simplify. I get that it,s for younger reader but still, some may have been explain better. An interesting book and a concept that I would like to see more often!
A good atlas of birds. It's easy to go through, well organize and simple. But! Those documentary/atlas book that use illustrations instead of picture are always a big disappointment to me (I get the guy is an illustrator not a photographer) but maybe write fiction then, an atlas should have real picture (except for dinosaur because we can photograph them obviously...).
A little less epic due to the tournament, it's cool, but it's a tournament, so no villains involved. Not my favorite so far, but still an above average manga!
3,5/5. Hard graphic novel that present the day to day of and physically abused child. Hard and very sad, even if the emotion didn't pass that much between the book and me, it was more because it's a subject that I'm sensible to and that touch me profoundly. The book might presented a bit too much of violence in my opinion, but it's what it's and present a sad/hard/horrible, but true picture of too many kids life. It has some light/hope at the end so that help. The art was very casual. Very good and important subject, the graphic novel in itself was average, good book overall but with the matters it has it could have been way better!
That was awesome from start to finish! If I had one small negative point, in the first half of it the plot seem a bit «unclear» like we get on a ride, but the finality of it, the purpose isn't that gripping, but the second half bring bigger and clearer stakes. But that is just if I'm searching for it. If not, the characters are great, original and deep. The humor work well. I was glad to get to see some characters from the first one, feel good to see them again! Very emotionally engaging in the story and in the character life as well. It also has some epic moments, crazy battles and tons of monsters! Can't wait to read the third one when it will get out. Eames has a unique voice in the fantasy genre and he is two in two right now so that make him a author to follow closely! A most read for the fantasy lovers!
2,5/5. Strong beginning with and intriguing premises and a solid character. In the middle the storyline became easy, simple and we saw it coming from far away. The queer character didn't bring anything to the story it just seem to have been put there to say that it bring inclusivity in it. I like it but could have been way better and didn't enjoy it enough to continue the series!
3,5/5. I have mixed feelings with this one. I love the unconditional love from a parent to his child that this book present. I also like the illustrations very much. God is a bit too often mention for my own taste but that was alright. The ending is a bit weird, bringing Heaven and death in the last page seem a bit dark and unnecessary I guess. It was good but had some clumsiness at some time.
Cute story about hope and a sick pet. Beautifully illustrated this story can help talk about both subject (hope and sick pet) if some situation in your child life make it useful to. Simple but well executed!
I'm a huge fan of Serj Tankian for his solo career as well as System of a Down. So when I saw he has written a book of «poetry» I pick it right up. I was disappointed, the rhythm wasn't there. I like and respect his ideas and what it try to pass on but the sonority wasn't what I expected.
