Another «underground» comic book with super-heroes that just can't bring anything new and don,t achieved the level of those major super-heroes machine that are Marvel and DC. the illustrations don't do it any good, seem unpolished and story/characters/world is just unoriginal. Not worth it!
2,5/5. This books present various evolution of technology, showing how it can help us, how it works, how it can possibly go wrong and finish with a small experiment, then start over with another technology. The canvas is always the same so it's very easy to go through. The problem with it is that everything seem force together, the experiment is something a bit far away from the actual information, the how it can go wrong seem sometimes push a bit too far, closer to science-fiction, then actual science and the informative part is sometimes a bit dense considering the fact that this is presented for kids, with easy to do experiment, there's no collusion between the age require to do and enjoy the experiment and the age to actually read and understand some of the informations in it. It should have been through more editing before being publish.
Funny little bookish cartoons! A simple one page cartoon format that bring humor with a touch of thinking. A bit more «complex» then what we often see in this type of book. Well done!!
Another Miyuki story that I like very much! Wonderful artwork! And a story with a positive message, more philosophical, and it was about the importance of taking the time and stops running/rushing for everything. Beautiful and deep story!
Good book with a positive message, that there is always something to do outside even if it’s raining (I like that because I never understand our fear of rain in our modern world, like we need to avoid getting rain on us above all…). The artwork was okay even if not really my style. A fun and original story!
A short story in act. In between picture book and children novel. It shows us a picture in a circle shape in the middle of every page with shorts sentences above and below. The format is original, but the small illustrations are black and white have a grayish/copy machine style that didn’t please me at all. The story was a bit too slow for my taste, but still good and cute with that child that kind of bound with a mouse. I also find the story to be a bit long for what it has to say. Not a bad story but it wasn’t present in the best format/media to do it justice.
Average book in almost every aspect. I can’t pinpoint anything that was bad, but I finish it with an impression of, not wasting time, but indifference... All the twist and turn of the story felt a bit too much for the characters, like their always way over their head in impossible situation but that was alright... The character left me, again a feeling of indifference for a big part of the book, but they slowly catch my interest, even if I wouldn’t say I was attach to them by the end of the book. It lack the wow effect, or the originality to really get my intention. It was okay, I don’t regret reading it, but I wouldn’t recommend it because it just didn’t stand out enough!
